This game is its own game, the levelling up progression is normal, you can grind to lv up, if your struggling with bosses then maybe switch up your build, you get tonnes of stances, spells and transformations. It has souls elements but you can say that about every action/action rpg game. It’s good to see Fromsoft influence many games but most studios put their own take on it. Great game and looking forward to what they do in the future!
Your trying to take on the Yellow Wind Sage without having first aquired the Wind Tamer don't you remember what chapter 1 taught you , acquire the Fireproof Mantle and other abilities inorder to better prepare for the Black bear boss , the developers are not liars your just not thinking outside the box . From what I can see on your hud your missing a lot . The way Black myth Works is if you find yourself stuck on a boss that means you need to actually explore the map , find hidden items that will make your build stronger, fight the other bosses, secret bosses , complete side quests etc . Black Myth is about growing your character stronger , experiment with resetting your skill tree ( sparcs ) specific for the boss fight . Your not even using your spells , your not experimenting with your medicines , your gords your soaks . You gotta be creative think a little bit . I love the game in part because the combination of the builds that are possible in this game is insane

Did you beat the game without getting the side item vessels? Like the scroll that buffs fire damage reduction or the item specifically for the chapter 2 end boss?
It took me a month (120 hours) since release to finish, with the help of guides (I'm not ashamed to admit it, lol). In terms of time spent, these are my hardest boss fights: 1) yellow wind sage (1 week) 2) sun wukong (4 days) 3) cloud treading deer (3 days) 4) duskveil phase 2 (1 day) 5) erlang shen (8hrs) 6) yellow loong (4hrs) i'm just about to finish NG and i'm about at the point where i've played enough of wukong and i'll be done for good. what an absolute masterpiece of a game.
I was cautiously optimistic about this game, hoping it to be more GoW/Tsushima and less Souls/EldenRing. I really like the setting and narrative, but knowing someone who has played Souls-esque games is struggling and frustrated, makes me glad I didn't pre-order. Hopefully a more balanced difficulty option will be available down the road. Thanks for the honest feedback!
Get a second opinion. I’m a souls vet have 100% in all of them. Love this game. The wind boss was one of the first real troublesome ones. Many require you to rethink your build and respec a little. I’m just entering Act 5 and love it. I think many of the challenge bosses in GoW and GoW2 are harder.
@@NewYears1978 appreciate your input. I played GoW on Normal, and put Demon Souls away after ~3hrs of being frustrated. Not looking to have to stick my meat in a grinder for 4 hours just to do it again 15min later on the next OP boss. #FilthyCasual
@@hdavis9070 oh man. Demon Souls is probably the easiest of souls IMO. I do admire your honesty though. These games just aren’t for everyone and that’s ok.
43:14 the game shows you which areas important merchants are by marking the names on the fast travel screen with an icon. It’s literally right next to the name. You’re not paying attention. You want the game to hold your hand and treat you like you’ve got a 40 point iq.
Thank you for showing the truth about this game. I bought into what people were saying and bought it but then really questioned my decision within the first hour. I debated if it was just one of those cases where it was harder in the beginning but then is more manageable later on when you master the combat, get upgrades, more spells, etc. Watched a couple of your videos on the game now and made the choice to refund as this is definitely not the game they marketed or that people are claiming it is. I have nothing against hard games nor people who enjoy them. I actually loved Elden Ring. But I agree with you, I don't like false advertising as this is tricking people into buying a game that isn't for them. Not everyone has the time to study bosses, reflexes or desire to play this type of game. Others do. Not every game is built for everyone, I also understand that. Just market them truthfully so people can make informed decisions. I do see the merits in this game and understand why people love it. I will likely watch people play it as I love the lore and art style and understand that it is a skill issue on my end :)
@@original-six-god1879I played the game for roughly 40 minutes and the person I spoke to from PlayStation gave me a refund because I was a level 4 stars member lol
Unfortunate. I never played a single souls game but I played this one. I beat this game and even platinum it. But I'm guessing people who missed out of the key items will say this game is trash. When some bosses are purposely designed to be this "trash" they force you to use the secret vessels, and the fight will be 10 times easier. When vessels are used, the "trash" bosses will even respond by saying things like "what ?! where did you get that !!??" or something. Its what Wukong literally had to go through in the origin story. He borrowed vessels and artifacts to beat his enemies. But hey.... what do I know. I'm not a souls player.
So any attacks that he cant figure out cuz it's a new style of things that he needs to learn, he calls it BS. Every boss in this game will introduce you to a new set of fighting style that you are expected to learn and get use to, he just doesnt want to.
That's sad...if you can actually beat the bosses, it's a fantastic game. The story is fascinating, visuals and soundtrack are stunning. And there are easy ways and there are hard ways to beat this and many of the bosses. I hope you give it another go, but I get it it's not for everyone.
i used to be against poeple who said "skill issue" but after sing this not so much 43:20 do you not see the "i" next to bamboo grove, its tells that theres is a npc, and if you go in bambo grove then one of the options got a picture of the npc
You're never going to beat him because, you're missing the Wind Tamer. You have to have this in order to beat him once he starts up the wind. Trust me, I wasted a lot of time on this boss not knowing this information. You have to finish the quest with that drunk pig and then you will have no problem whooping this boss once you get this item. It is important. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ 😂😉👌😁👍
Bro you are missing the wind tamer while fighting the yellow wind sage, also you didn’t get the fire shield from chap 1 either😂,no wonder you struggled, you didn’t play the game properly. I’ve beat the game 3 times and currently on my 4th run NG+4, and I have never played elden ring and any dark soul games before. Beating this game is 100% attainable for any casual players, you just need to do it right.
Bro it’s not that bad lol. Nowhere near as hard as ER or many souls games. Also this game started dev in 2018 so it didn’t take much from Elden ring lol. Edit: you also don’t seem to be exploring for anything. When I was at the boss at the start of this video I had many more abilities than you. You’re missing a lot.

They did say the game is difficult. I think your problem is that you keep telling yourself this is a souls like and you are approaching it like you would a from software title. There was so many things and items that you could have gotten to make the sage guy easier. Stop bitching about how the devs victimized you and get to figuring out how to over come the boss that is giving you trouble. I am not good at souls like games but I can usually figure out how to get through them. I beat my his boss on my 2 nd try. Adjust you build. You are far more focused on how unfair the game is rather than paying attention to what the boss is doing. I'm almost done with the game and the tiger vanguard gave me more trouble than any other boss so far. You really shouldn't play the game if it's not fun dude that's silly. Good luck this game is sick af too bad your mindset isn't cut out for it.
No one is going to be receptive to this type of criticism. You need to check how you address people. Start by trying NOT to invalidate their experience with the game. You might think this game is sick but that doesn’t mean everyone is going to feel the same way
I hate the game too, it is a souls like but you aren’t rewarded by even a bit of story line, you basically learn to beat a boss and then rinse and repeat until the end. Overhyped dog shit.
Man we share the same feelings about this game, I think the same word by word and I dropped it a bit earlier than you (at the prison boss). Only a stylish-action game can be focused on style. That's why they exist in the first place. They can afford massive bosses doing all kind of flashy bullshit since they don't kick your ass at the slightest mistake. A technical, hard game should be focused on substance. That's why Sekiro is so good even if it ripped off my soul to beat it: boss fights are always fair, engaging and there's no bullshit going on. No giant enemies, it's like dancing with the enemy, it's like fighting for real. In my opinion that's the only "souls-like" (although technically it's not really a souls-like) that really nailed it and never got me infuriated for anything that wasn't due to a mistake I made. I totally agree on the morale of your video's ending too. We should definitely stop playing something when we're not enjoying it, our time and wellbeing are worth way more than ticking a box.
I love that you have physical media still. I couldn't beat Wukong either, don't know why, the combat just didn't click with me I suppose. I usually play FPS and fighting games but couldn't crack this one.
The completion stats on those bosses are much higher now. Final boss comes in at 28%. Ng+1 is a one-attempt boss experience with the available upgrades. And one shot is possible with the right setup. In fact ng+1 is like the ‘story mode’ option the base level game should have had. Hopefully they’ll add some difficulty options and you can give it another go at some point ☺️
@cayletalks irrelevant stat, having more time to play a game than most people doesn't make you better, you saying the game isn't fun whilst getting absolutely spanked by yellow wind sage just says everything about your low gaming IQ 😆
Yay for healthy relationships with games! For a while I was obsessed with "getting my money's worth" out of games and struggled to just stop playing it. It wasn't until I played Metal Gear Rising Revengence and didn't really enjoy the bossfights at all that I reckoned with that problem. So many people love Rising so I tried to push through but I eventually realised that it's okay to not like stuff and stop playing it. I picked up and put down Hollow Knight within an hour because it immediately felt like not my kind of game. Hades I spent longer with, got out a couple of times, but it never felt like I was getting better at the game to be able to enjoy the rogue-like stuff. Looking forward to some more chill playthroughs, but just in case you fancy a bit more challenge, Deadpool on the highest difficulty is tough as nails to the point it's extremely poorly balanced by the time you get to the last level!
Why complain about the game being rubbish? As the saying goes, "A poor worker will always blame his tools!" The game is phenomenal, and just because you're stuck, it doesn't mean it's the games fault. It's all on you, dude. Stick at it, and you'll soon begin to enjoy it.
That is so weird, you end beating the yellow rat of the second chapter after 4 tries then the dragon and the dragon lady gave a hell of a hard time. I killed tge dragon in my 1st try, the dragon lady in my second try BUT THE YELLOW RAT, FUCK, TOOK ME AT LEAST LIKE 20 TRIES. After I beat the yellow rat I've learned sooooo much, so first thing to do is to absolutely not to look at your character at all, your eyes should be only on the bosses, then divide the bosses health bar into three stages, the first third do it until you are comfortable without any spells, just by focusing in not hitting as much but in keeping your eyes on the boss and to learn those attack patterns, if you die after the 1st while you are learning dont worry because the goal is only to stick to the 1st third until you are comfortable, then move to the 2nd third and do the same but try to use spells toward the end of the second third, if you have mastered the 1st 2 thirds then the last third will be way easier because you already understand the mechanics. So don't try so hard beating the bosses in one go but instead approach them in 3 stages, as you keep understanding each stage then let yourself be proud of the fact that you are really kicking ass one stage at a time.
There's no penalty for dying... You can just grind, if you want, and stack abilities. I hate soulslike games, but this one is very forgiving. He can also respec for free anytime. He just put his points into the wrong spots for now.
Nah he is just rushing and not get the good upgrades like i do pretty good damage and easily beat bosses in first try ,just take ur time find upgrade materials and secrets and level up then ur gonna have awesome time
You know how somebody sucks at a game? They blame non-existent bugs instead of their horrible skills. You sound just like DSP. It's never your fault, the game is broken. Unbelievable. Stick to Nintendo games, kid. They're more your speed. If you can't even afford a capture setup and have to video off of your TV, like it's 1990, then you shouldn't be a streamer. Wow.
The irony of you calling someone a “kid” while acting childish with this gate keeping “git gud” mindset. I swear you souls fans are the worst thing that has happened to gaming.
Cool game . I wanted to keep continuing this game. Beat some hard bosses very early into the game but feel like giving up. Too frustrating and i don’t have the patience for souls type games. I didn’t know it was a souls type before buying it unfortunately. Its still prety solid if you have the patience for the hard challenge
I don’t usually buy games anymore at full price. Made the mistake of buying this one right outta the gate cuz of how many people said it was a great game (which it is) I’m more of a casual player and so are MOST gamers these days. There was definitely some dishonesty from the developers early in to hook as many ppl in as possible only to have tons of ppl straight up give up. I’m done with Black Myth and I’ll just wait on Dragon Age The Veilguard
Glad I didn’t buy it and I’ll happily just replay Enslaved Odyssey To The West for my Monkey Mythology fun as that game had everyone one in it with Pigsy and Sandy along with Tripitaka. Great game. This looks great but not my style of game. I’m more Ghosts Of Tsushima and God Of War.
it's clearly you play it wrongly if you keep think it's soul-like since it's a action RPG when you cant beat one boss try to change things up keep dodging wont make it any easier you dont even have the mantle that immune fire from chapter 1 that can help regen focus and chap 2 you can get the bell to nerf that boss so the wind will gone and it's the mech that boss hidden inside tornado it's not go out of arena + the first time i beat this boss i dont use the special bell that make wind gone btw
So have you obtained the tool to beat this boss from the side quest boss? 6% beat that boss in it's hard mode it is, most beat him easier with that tool. There you got that great gust achievement most don't 🎉.
Your commentary made me laugh. I’m stuck in chapter One. It’s brutally hard. Your assessment is dead on about not being able to parry or level up after boss fights. I just understand why developers won’t put in difficulty levels. If I created a hard game that people love playing: I would put in an easy mode for casual gamers.
I love watching people play these games, but I'd never play them myself! I find really long boss fights frustrating, and I've never had a lot of patience to replay fights over and over again. I do love the look of this game though. I agree you should give it up, you're obviously not enjoying it, games are supposed to be for enjoyment not torture 😅
just defeated the game, too difficult to be irresistibly fun. If anyone disagrees they are lying, its too difficult to be fun. no blocking system is definitely annoying, (they should have sampled "Ghost of Tsushima", which had a flawless blocking system) also Wukong has lackluster combat system and boss fights are way too frequent where you dont have time to breath, plus ending is anti-climatic. In NG+ you dont feel stronger and bosses take just as long to defeat the second play through, yet the destined one is supposed to be divine,. Yes you can defeat enemies a bit faster with pluck of many clones but only once acquiring the "free mind" ability after defeating certain difficult boss I think Arlang, but this ability should already be available after beating main boss Sun Wukong. Although creative Game is too linear, repetitive combat gets old, boss health bars are excessively large and take too long to drain and dodging everything is annoying, and as you pointed out the tempo of the game doesnt change. 4/10.
as a dark souls vet, git gud. im sorry i had too lol, please stick with it man, theres gotta be something you missed. i agree with the camera though its not great the FOV needs to be a bit wider.
Judging by comments I've seen online as well, you're better off playing in Balanced mode to reduce the input lag as Performance mode seems to introduce extra delays to the controller input. The comments in here re how to explore the game itself also sound pretty good to me, you should come to it with a fresh start and explore a bit more - you might enjoy it!
An sorry but after a 12 hour shift, am not going to loose sleep because of a game that refused to have a difficulty setting. Say whatever you want ain't no real person got time for that shit. So no, they weren't misleading
@@terrellthaddies7867 of course it’s not a 100% soulslike but it has more soulslike elements than not. I’m thoroughly enjoying the game myself I’m just saying for those who don’t like genre coming in expecting something different is going to be disappointed.
@@Darian32 Which is understandable.
The whole time I was playing the game i was like: I'm not mad at the game but I'm mad at the marketing of this game....
Every chapter have side quests who give you relics to use in the final boses of the area. Make it more easy.. sorry the english
I can’t believe this is the boss that caused him to quit, he hasn’t even gotten to yellow loong yet.
At least yellow loong is optional.
Yeah but don't forget it's the games fault

He's definitely gonna quit if he fights the scorpion lord😂
Oh but it'll be the games fault 😂
It took me a month (120 hours) since release to finish, with the help of guides (I'm not ashamed to admit it, lol). In terms of time spent, these are my hardest boss fights:
1) yellow wind sage (1 week)
2) sun wukong (4 days)
3) cloud treading deer (3 days)
4) duskveil phase 2 (1 day)
5) erlang shen (8hrs)
6) yellow loong (4hrs)
i'm just about to finish NG and i'm about at the point where i've played enough of wukong and i'll be done for good. what an absolute masterpiece of a game.
It’s more like GoW/Tsushima, for sure, IMO. It’s not impossibly difficult, but it is very CHALLENGING at times. SO FUN THOUGH!

Menu skill issue 😂
Foreal. It literally has a pre icon then The actual silhouette of the specific merchant
What are you playing on to refund because ps5 won’t let you refund anything if you have played it
I bought it on PS5 and I’m sol out $60. Biggest disappointment in years.
I have to disagree with the last sentence cuz of my experienced with it
@@original-six-god1879I played the game for roughly 40 minutes and the person I spoke to from PlayStation gave me a refund because I was a level 4 stars member lol
Its not a skill issue. The game is not balanced.
Don’t use your skills right off the bat, save them. Also, the wind chime will help you out big time
i used to be against poeple who said "skill issue" but after sing this not so much
43:20 do you not see the "i" next to bamboo grove, its tells that theres is a npc, and if you go in bambo grove then one of the options got a picture of the npc
You're never going to beat him because, you're missing the Wind Tamer. You have to have this in order to beat him once he starts up the wind.

I usually play FPS and fighting games but couldn't crack this one.
honestly its not as hard as people think i have played demon souls dark souls elden ring sekio and nioh all which qre much harder than wukong
Man the struggle is so real with this boss! He almost makes you want to drop it
This game is amazing. Elden Ring and Sekiro prepped me for this game. Ngl it’s so much more fun.
Final boss was at 0.4% when I got it done, i was there before most😂

Nah. Ppl just getting used to dumb easy games. This is how games used to be back in the day.
I was tempted to buy this but not so much anymore after seeing the miniscule damage you do to the bosses

I have been stuck on the snake guy for 4 days,he seems to get more aggressive the more i try to beat him.
Hey Cayle what TV is that? Making me wanna get a 77" lol
I’m more Ghosts Of Tsushima and God Of War.
it's clearly you play it wrongly if you keep think it's soul-like since it's a action RPG when you cant beat one boss try to change things up keep dodging wont make it any easier
you dont even have the mantle that immune fire from chapter 1 that can help regen focus and chap 2 you can get the bell to nerf that boss so the wind will gone and it's the mech that boss hidden inside tornado it's not go out of arena + the first time i beat this boss i dont use the special bell that make wind gone btw
The dodge is awesome it just happens late...about when you literally almost get hit. It feels to me like I would want in more games.
The right decision. If it’s repetitive and you’re not enjoying it, definitely drop it.
just defeated the game, too difficult to be irresistibly fun. 4/10.

Just finished yeah your bad
@@joshyboyo967Yh he’s terrible at souls like without overpowering great content creators though especially for old games but definitely not the channel to watch for deciding if you should buy a game because he makes it look a lot worse then it is
I haven't meet Yellow Loong 😂😂
Definitely a skill issue...GOTY
Agreed
The people saying that they are disappointed is prob bc they aren’t good enough at it
This game is not very tough at all. Its not a souls like. It doesnt play like one at all. Its more akin to God of War, Devil may cry than anyrhing.
And its fair. Its not bullshit. Its not hard. You just have to recognise patterns, learn and adapt. Like literally lots of other video games...
found the game unenjoyable and rubbish 'Too Much Hype' IF it had been out on disc at time of purchase i would have burnt it (side step, would have sold the game and at least got some monies back) wasted £60 on PS Website purchase
You need wind tamer to beat him and a pluck of many. You’re fighting him before you’re ready.
That's exactly what happened to me. I died 30 times. Then I got those & he fell 1st try
@@thepointlessstruggle7194 I got it first so I never knew all that happens 😅
literally beat the wind sage without the windtamer.
@@thepointlessstruggle7194me too! 1st try after getting the Wind Tamer. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@furynvmYou are a Legend. I almost did. That Wind is a Pain.
Is funny that you said the game is hard and you are killing the boss without the wind tamer. I have it and still took me a long time to beat it because I suck at dogging and there you are doing perfect dogging 😂
The game does give you the option of making things less difficult. For example, for the last boss you showed, you could have put all of your mind cores into upgrading your shock resistance (you can respec after for free) at the merchant in the cellar where you fought the tiger vanguard.
