Yes. But also there is an extra level of excitement because it's a reunion and because Kyle just put on a live show, and because there was a big event with lots to talk about. One of the problems with these sorts of group RUclips endeavors is that the people often spend way too much time together and put on too many shows. As a result, a lot of the chemistry gets watered down just because you can't be with the same people every single day for decades and not start to get "old married couple" energy where there is just less to talk about.
An Okami 2 always felt like a pipe dream. Even though the first game ends with room for a sequel (it's been so long that I forgot how it ends. Luckily it's $5 on Steam right now), I always knew it didn't sell well and then Clover closed down and folks there started Platinum Games, so it always seemed impossible. I'm so glad another one is happening... twenty years later haha...
Damiani, get your Zelda-loving ass back on Okami and finish it! It's still one of the best action-adventures ever and has one of the greatest finales in the genre!
@@naumchomsky8840 Fun fact, version 1.0 of Last Guardian has an uncapped framerate, so if you have a ps5, you can prevent the game from updating and play it at a higher framerate 🙂
As an example of real life events affecting how to see a game, my cat Sam whom I had for ten years was gravely ill when I was playing that game (he would die a month after it released), and because of that I was able to take a lot more away from the game. It was a sad time, but it made me love the game more. I haven't played it since though. I sometimes wonder how I would look at it removed from the sadness of dealing with a dying pet, but I kind of just want to leave that memory as is.
To build onto the Screamer hype: Graffiti, the makers of the original, rebranded to Milestone shortly after its release. So the new game is made by the same studio that did the original. This is a passion project if I've ever seen one.
The thing people need to understand about Screamer is that the PC games industry and the console games industry used to be two entirely different things that rarely communicated. They were often sold in entirely different stores, had entirely different magazines and had entirely different heroes and star developers. But occasionally a game would appear on one platform that made the other jealous. For pc gamers, that usually happened when some stellar Japanese game came out in the arcade or on platform and it wasn’t available on PC. In the early 90s, that was Ridge Racer. 3d gaming was just taking off and the PC gamers were jealous of the fancy new 3d graphics in arcades and in home with the likes of PlayStation and Saturn. Enter Screamer, which was the first 3d arcade racing game in the style of a 32 bit console game that was sold for PC. It allowed gamers to finally have something that felt competitive with the new consoles that were ushering in a new page in gaming. So that’s why the reviews sound so hyperbolic in terms of what they are saying about the game. Screamer was like Marathon on Mac or Crash Bandicoot after Mario 64. It felt like striking back.
