You can get Final Fantasy 7 and 8 physically on switch I believe? You can get them digitally on PlayStation 4/5 though.

New subscriber here just wondering what your thoughts are on CEX and their mad delivery fees when you buy online?

I assume demand/values and go eh be this instead and offer trend merch in and out which is stupid because gamers will go in and pickup whatever, for themselves, for kids they get into retro or current. They can try and branch out but don't. Those with without good internet. Can agree with them being in the same shopping centre or not as far distance between some in the towns. Cities or rural cities/towns. EB Games with the Zing merch side or the EB Games side, JB Hi-fi (appliances /TVs/games/movies type store, whatever the US/UK equivalent), CEX I guess is our cash converters or Pennywise. So second hand with laptops, jewellery, games, movies, other equipment. Can get loans there as well. Big W (department and has a game section but mostly safe games the odd Indies by mostly obvious big games) In a sizeable town it's still a question of oh and anime physical thats new, ah yes wait a few weeks as 1 copy. Or not and but the collectiors edition because the standard release wasn't there, checked again no standard I bought the collectors out of curiousity and sick of waiting. I don't pre order games or anime or manga I just wait for them after their dates. For games it's probably fair but varies on the game if a anime game or something that's niche and gets a physical like had to fit a visual novel sure, you wait for common stuff yeah it's easy enough I assume to get them. AAA or AA are easy enough to get still. But odd stuff yeah nah. You either wait or you order things. I have to order most of my books because they have like common series and the anime fan type under surface level stuff but not niche niche that's stays overseas niche they have like 1-2 if that of course and then I have to order the rest week to week it's annoying. Games to go cheap, anime/manga to be on the shelf a few weeks from the dates. It's fun.....

You probably won't be surprised but I've seen folk with 15,000 games and their AV setup is not that great. As an AV enthusiast who also appreciates the finer things in life its nice to see someone who isn't skimping on their AV setup. I tried to do the one TV setup but instead went for a multi station setup. I have 4 stations, one in living room for the latest consoles (LGC9), 1 in the game room for the retro consoles and another station for my analogue consoles and finally a PC station for my work setup. Granted if I was recording via an Elgato i'd have to move stuff around but most stuff is plug n play. With modern stuff I find charging is a pain so I got some USB charging stations as there are so many controllers. I have noticed I am the only one commenting on the AV side, shame really its an important part of any gaming setup. You have a nice home.

Started collecting physical a few years ago because I saw it then. Buying licenses not games is gonna be the new norm. Not for me. My physical backlog is more games than I can get thru in the rest of my life. Plus I can see physical rising in price so I hope also a good investment.

Oh my freaking god... that comment at 00:07 is the most idiotic thing I've ever read. Why would I spend €5 on a beer I'll finish in 10 minutes? Why would I spend €15 on a cinema ticket for a movie that will last 2 hours? Why would I spend €1000 on a trip that will last one week? So let's make the beer disgusting so it will take way longer to be finished and you'll get more minutes per sip. Let's make the movie last 10 hours by filling it with filler bullshit until you hate yourself, so you'll get more movie per €. Let's travel to a horrible, uninteresting place where everything is cheap but nothing's really there to enjoy, so you can stay 3 weeks rather than one with the same €1000. These people are the reason why so many games are ruined nowadays as they're artificially extended, either by stretching them with boring, empty content that kills the intensity of the experience, or by making them unbearably hard so you can waste 3 hours on each boss and have the fake feeling you're getting more content for your money. Quality over quantity is the only way to go through life for me. I'm so sorry to have so few companions on this path.

Man we share the same feelings about this game, I think the same word by word and I dropped it a bit earlier than you (at the prison boss). Only a stylish-action game can be focused on style. That's why they exist in the first place. They can afford massive bosses doing all kind of flashy bullshit since they don't kick your ass at the slightest mistake. A technical, hard game should be focused on substance. That's why Sekiro is so good even if it ripped off my soul to beat it: boss fights are always fair, engaging and there's no bullshit going on. No giant enemies, it's like dancing with the enemy, it's like fighting for real. In my opinion that's the only "souls-like" (although technically it's not really a souls-like) that really nailed it and never got me infuriated for anything that wasn't due to a mistake I made. I totally agree on the morale of your video's ending too. We should definitely stop playing something when we're not enjoying it, our time and wellbeing are worth way more than ticking a box.

I think ps5 is the last gen of physical outside of the very limited lrg unless you're called Nintendo. Especially with more and more stuff getting digital months before a physical release

Their customer service is absolutely abysmal, bordering on non existent, and they seemingly don't know how or are simply unwilling to properly package and protect a product so that it doesn't get completely destroyed in transit. They're going to go out of business soon and quite frankly it can't come soon enough! Good riddance to them!

smyths is the best to get new games physically on release, it’s obviously not a shop specifically dedicated to gaming but i picked up both astro bot and silent hill 2 from smyths on release

After gaming for as long as I can remember and it been such a huge part of my childhood whilst living in a remote area. I feel the PS5 could well be my last console. Consoles now coming with no disc drive as standard, an increasing amount of games digital only for a certain period or on some occasions indefinitely and an increasing amount of games been ‘online only’ .. it’s spelling the end of gaming for me unfortunately

I believe FF13 is enhanced on Series X, but not 100% sure about the other 2 in the trilogy, the last time i played them was on 360.

I’m so glad I have a local independent game shop, owner is super friendly and will text when they arrive so can usually pick up day before release

I've seen on reddit comments that CeX will sometimes get staff to go buy brand new copies and bring them in just so they have a few copies of the latest release in the system to drive more traffic to the website which probably increases sales. (No idea if this is true as I said I saw it on reddit) If Game focused 100% on gaming and not the junk (toys/plushies/clothes) which probably takes up more than half of every store, they would probably be a nice place to shop. Have well trained staff who love gaming. Have games from every generation going back as far as you can. Start doing Pre-Owned again. I remember the days of 2 for £20. A wild suggestion would be if they could partner with companies who release physical versions of games which are usually digital only. There is honestly a lot game could do but as others have said it seems they are happy to slowly die which will be a sad day for UK physical gaming.

Pretty sure Zodiac Age is just a remaster of the original PS2 version of FF12, but it's got some extra content like more weapons and gamemodes etc

Final Fantasy 12 was a late PS2 game. Zodiac Age was the Japanese version of Final Fantasy 12 in that era. They rereleased it for PS4 as the Zodiac Age, which is supposed to be better. Also, because Final Fantasy 12 was released so late in the life of the PS2, it got slept on. Final Fantasy 13 and its sequels have not been released for other consoles since they came out on PS3 probably because they are largely disliked.

FF onlines are 11 and 14 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,10-2,12 are all available physically on Switch. 7+8 and 10+10-2 are double packs, but avoid the European/American copy of 10 and 10-2 because both games are only on the cartridge in asian copies annoyingly. They all play in English so doesn't matter

Actually bought Silent Hill 2 and Astrobot for £52 each with £6 post Costs from CEX so used some of my vouchers on them. Both great so far. Astrobot is amazing but Silent Bill 2 is now broken as can’t enter a poxy safe code.

I’d honestly be shocked if GAME doesn’t solely become a website within the next 5 years tops. I remember walking into a Grainger Games back in 2017 after receiving my wage to go and pick up a Lucille replica from The Walking Dead, next thing you know, they’re all closed down! We also now have games being released digitally first and then coming to disc or maybe not at all (Alan Wake 2 coming soon) for example. Physical collecting is definitely dying. Now let’s just hope CeX lasts longer, because the DVD’s they have there now is insane. Makes you wonder what happens next… They stop taking DVD’s and things that won’t sell, or they can’t afford to stay afloat at all!
