The issue with your idea of games that really push the hardware, that couldn't be done on previus generations is... that really isn't a thing anymore. Like the Telekinesis game you mentioned could probably be pulled off on the PS3. PS3 had Half-Life 2, Portal 1 AND Portal 2. We've been able to do good physics sims for quite a while now, hardware limitations are not the issue.

To be fair, when I was a kid, most people had a computer. I live in Aus and there was a whole governmental push to get people into computing in the mid 80's... probably got it from the Brits. If you went to a video game store, it was wall to wall PC games. If you wanted a console game you had to go to a toy store

They could make the PS5 fully backwards compatible... they won't do that, because if they did then people largely wouldn't buy the new stuff that is coming out. Specially with stuff like racing games. I went back and played some of my old PS2 racing games during the pandemic and... They were actually really fun! The PS3 actually had some pretty unique hardware that is a bit of a pain to emulate, but that is not a problem with 4 and 5. PS5 is basically just a higher spec machine. But in that environment, if you want to sell people new games they have to at least be good. Not the microtransaction leaden slop they are currently making

Joel wont die in season 2 that is already verified. Part 2 will be divided in two seasons where season 3 will kill Joel.

They have split the second game into 2 seasons and from what i can tell they wont be having joels death till the last episode of season 2 based on how much coverage abby is getting in season with regards to screen time

I don't think Joel will die till the end of season 2. If TLOU1 was a full season TLOU2 could be 3 seasons long. Its such a massively longer story to tell

It'll flop because the story just simply isnt very good in part 2. I doubt many fans of season 1 will enjoy Joel dying and it becoming a teen drama

Hey Cayle, sorry to hear about your childhood, but you seem to have overcome that so well done! Totally understand not wanting to have kids of your own after all of that. I'd be interested to hear how the conversation went with your partner about the not having kids thing. It is something that I can relate to myself because my family situation is not ideal either, and it is a difficult situation for me.

Shame there's no videos for all the game log I really enjoyed watching them. Anyway as for TLOU tv show I'm predicting and will say to anyone that they will ink out the very beginning of the game to like 4 to 5 episodes before they off current Joel. With a flashback every episode that takes up the majority of the episode with a cut to Ellie offing abbeys crew. They are going to gloss over a lot to where the last episode being a flashback leading up to the porch scene and ending in a watered down version of the fist fight. Also as for the PO box I'm surprised you don't look into a more popular PO box location as maybe there's a reason besides where you live basically being dead in terms of businesses, why the shop isn't used or at least mention that your paying for a service that couldn't be used. And tbh a week seems like heaven I work through most Christmas's working for the NHS

I don't agree with the argument joel shouldn't have done something because of how he was in the first game over like 5 years have passed he's been living with hundreds of people working with strangers bringing people in etc In the first game he spent some time with strangers and went to sleep next to them once he got to know then not hard to imagine 5 years makes him abit more relaxed

They are definitely gonna drag it out until the final episode of the season. And then bring Pedro back for flashbacks in season 3

Although they have said they want to stay as true as possible to the lore of the game they are also in it to make money so they are bound to alter some of the plot lines like they did in the first season so as to appeal to the wider audience the show has. I am willing to bet that there is probably a much larger proportion of people that enjoy the show that have no idea it’s even based on a game compared to fans of the actual games. So long as it’s done well even some gamers may not care too much either. The amount of people that will be upset with plot changes will most likely be a small percentage of the total viewers so the studio may not worry too much about it. Anyway I am not saying they will change the plot drastically enough to never play out that scene but I certainly think they will change the story enough to delay it for some time. My guess is that the scene will be the season 2 finale and then season 3 introduces a lot more flashback events so as to be able to use Pedro for much longer then people familiar with the story will expect. Oh and us 50 year olds are not old we are just wise 😊
