There’s never much in it for me when people or bands record covers with the intent of trying to sound exactly the same. If you’re going to record a cover, make it your own. Be that really obvious or subtle is not what matters. That it is you, is what matters. Beautiful cover. I have no doubt John would love it.

Lovely -- This is also one of my fav Prine tunes! As you say above there's a depth to the emotion that this tune (and others) evokes, that is too complex and nuanced to just be called sad.

When I started alternating down to the A string in D7/G… it almost sounded like it didn’t quite belong, but for some reason I became attached to it anyway. As corny as it sounds- I don’t really know what I’m thinking about when I’m playing… it’s all kind of based off of what “feels” right in the moment.
