Man, that crack in the windscreen makes me nervous. Nice driving, got a GR yaris myself it is really great track car. Others easily underestimate it. Had a Porsche Boxtes S 718 behind me on a twisty track last week. Even on the straights he could only just keep up with the yaris.
Lovely comparison. As an owner of both Yaris and Exige (bite me!) I could be in both cars in this video... loved it. You wrestled the Yaris beautifully to keep up but with the light precision of the Lotus's steering and higher power to weight ratio, I could see the Lotus's driver having a much easier time of it. However, the Yaris is the most exciting car I've ever had. Another type of driving experience that shouldn't be missed. Thx. Great video.
@@aaronpreddy35 Thanks for the suggestion, however I don't live in an environment that it would be beneficial. I'm on an eight square mile island with roads more suited to 'special stage' than track.
Tokyra could you speak more to the differences of the two and why you find the GR Yaris the most exciting? I’m considering an S2 n/a Elise or GR Yaris, after info like this to help me decide. 👍
@@stevepascoe I think that you will just have to test drive for yourself. Both cars can create very strong emotional and sensorial experience. My little Lotus is almost half the weight, that is an almost unattainable specification in a modern car and creates a more manageable feeling even though your arse is inches from the road. It's more an extension of yourself and is therefore psychologically less challenging. The Yaris (especially because I've now gone for 300 bhp and a Milltek exhaust since I last wrote) just feels more exciting because I'm pushing my own envelope. Hope that helps.
Fantastic. With 3 less cylinders and more weight, arguably this track doesn't suit the Lotus but this doesn't take anything away from the GR and your driving. Well done.
@@StottyZr I have the same colour and only been in track once so far. LOVE IT... Sound is missing though. On your video you can hear that aspiration sound. Very nice driving. For track driving do you go for SPORT or TRACK setting? Ciao
Shouldn't get near that car really !! and let's be fair once he got into it the Lotus just up and fuked off as it should, but on a twisty b rd the Yaris would spank it 😁
Ha! Absolutely no chance the Yaris would even see which way the Exige went so long as there’s a good driver on board! Both cool cars, but really there’s no competition.
It's ok to day that the Exige would spank it but on a wet Devon b road not a chance if it wasn't crashing into the ground it would be a spinning top with wet leaves etc the Yaris would cope extremely well with those conditions the road conditions and surface would hurt the Exige not the Yaris
@@neilterrymorton4413 Great driving by the Yaris to keep up, just done 1600miles road trip including going around the NY500 and I can say it didn't touch the deck once... more capable on road than expected....
Think of the lotus driver could drive he’d be gone in a flash. I found this at Anglesey. People that go and buy a v6 exige doesn’t mean they can drive. I have an s2 exige and spend most of the time overtaking superior cars with no skill

Tokyra would you ever consider putting a DCT in your Exige? I'm guessing you've got the manual?

@@tokyra1 appreciate the reply. Have you had a chance to test drive an RX8? (Also in my list for consideration).
3:10 Lotus realizes someone is trying to race him.
Yeah not a hope this should be renamed Yaris gets flogged by Exige .

It's an Elise 1.8 supercharged 4 dude
@@andy2906 no it's not, it's a v6 3.5l supercharged exige.
You can really drive your Yaris, pushing it to its limits against a track focused Lotus! Top driving mate!
Much appreciated 🙏🏻 I'm getting faster each time I go out :)
Nice driving man👌🏻👌🏻 open up that straw the turbo is blowing through and it will run even better
Nice oversteer catch!
This is a suitable track for the Yaris, the Lotus is just so much lighter
Nice driving !
Nice one good driving 🚗 👌
How do you mount your camera mate?
I'm pretty sure I took your advice on how to mount the cam 😂 Shower curtain rail from screwfix 🤣🤙🏼
@@StottyZr well done mate. No wonder the video looks so good😂
sounds just like a R26R..,the yaris
GR Yaris (not a track car) acquitted itself well.
Any MOD on your Yaris?
Just removed rear seats & lightweight battery and some camber bolts! It’s a cracking car right out of the box 🙂

Nah even then Yarris wouldn't spank an Exige. And this circuit proves it. What would be cool is to see ScottyGR pilot an Exige for fun
