    The Exige 380 featured in this video is driven by my good friend Alex whom I also regularly do simracing with. I also had a chat with the driver of the GT3 afterwards and we all had a good laugh about our drive together. Trackdays like this are the best!

    Only just seen this now, but what a great vid! Loved the captions. The amount of time the S2 steals back on corner entry is borderline criminal! Great stuff.

    Nice seeing the car setup right - kept loose - only way to go fast in an Exige is to have them in a knife edge. Great driving, thanks for sharing.

    One of the best onboards I've ever watched, that was proper exciting. What a car and what a driver, goes to show once again that all the fun lies in a cars handling and weight.

      Thanks for the kind comment! The Exige is so exciting to drive, happy I was able to convey a bit of that through video

      @@RobSpoel You're welcome! The way you can play around with the front and rear on the brakes and the insane corner speed is just so nice to watch, even on video it conveys super well which is usually not the case. I've watched some other video's too and everytime I'm just amazed how nimble the car handles on track. Yoko A052 is an amazing tire to compliment that too!

    Very impressive and enjoyable to be able to admire the footwork as well as the driving prowess. I tried this week end a 430 cup with Nitron suspensions, it makes such a big difference compared to my 350 sport who is on Bilsteins.... a planned upgrade for sure.

      The suspension change together with a proper alignment really made a big difference to the cars handling! The limited slip diff also made a big difference on track, it really helps to rotate the car on acceleration out of corners.

    Awesome video, Rob, and what a lap time! What‘s your personal best with your GT3 in Prenois?

    • @RobSpoel
      @RobSpoel  Год назад

      Thanks! My PB at Dijon with the GT3 was a 1:29.38. I think I can go faster, but it’s been a while since I drove there in the Porsche so I’d need a few laps to get back into the groove again!

    Fantastic driving and footage! How does the exige compare to driving the 997 GT3? I’m currently in an exige (S3) and considering switching to a 997 GT3 - interested to hear your thoughts!

    • @RobSpoel
      @RobSpoel  Год назад +3

      Thank you! They are very different experiences. The main difference that I noticed immediately was how much more accessible the Exige was. The lighter car and mid engine layout and lower overall speeds make it easier to drive at the limit, whereas the 997 with the very rear biased engine can be a lot more unforgiving. I did a lot more modifying to the Exige than the GT3, which was pretty great stock already. But with the mods they both feel like sharp focused tracktools and are both equally fun to drive, just in different ways :)

    Was that Alfa 4C on a warm up lap or something? They're meant tobe fast on track

    • @RobSpoel
      @RobSpoel  Год назад +1

      I don’t know what tyres they were using, maybe they weren’t on semi slicks. Generally I haven’t seen a 4C that could keep up with the Exige at trackdays that I’ve been at yet though, although I’m sure they can be made quite capable!

      They wear quicker than some other tyres that I've had before yes, but their grip and the feeling on the grip threshold is the best!

    if u can share only one tip on how to drive exige fast, what is it?

    • @RobSpoel
      @RobSpoel  9 месяцев назад +2

      The tips I would give would be very different based on the level of the driver! In general, to drive the Exige fast you really need to perfect the racing line and to learn how to carry speed into and out of corners. Once you have the line clean try to brake less hard (same braking point) and trail into the corner better to carry the speed. Once you get the feeling down brake later and harder to get the same entry speed result. The car lacks power which other cars can use to compensate for mediocre racing lines!
