I worked on VW performance engines for 12+ yrs. Hydrolic lifters are used to save on labor at The Cost of performance. Good for daily driver customers who don't race their cars.

Thank you for sharing this importand information.
I replaced some weeks ago four hydr. lifter because of klicking noise on my 2200.
I do not recognized the slit in the push rod and checked the installation today after 20 flight hours after replacement of the lifter. I installed one of the four push rod in the wrong direction. Thank you again.

Of course Jabiru have now gone to double valve springs for these engines.

It's amazing to watch such a video, from a non-engineer guy, giving advice on other brand engines while the crap they sell are compiling tremendous design flaw due to basic ignorance!!!!!!
Try to solve problems on your own brand shitty engines (I own 3 of them!!!), then you'll be fully entitled to give advice to others!!!!

Excellent video, thank you. I wonder if generally the Jabiru 8 cylinder 180 hp engine is safe and reliable for aircraft STOL use?

So it's probably best to have the motor stripped and checked or checked some how witout stripping the whole motor?
