Thanks for sharing, I recognize a lot of Tripp Anderson's pics here. Many that I shared w/ him over the years. I drove the Dauphinais #26, and that's me @ 7:22 near the Tresca truck.

As someone that used to drive mixers, the trucks in the weeds are right where they need to be. Guarantee those things are ragged out way beyond being useful anymore.

Yeah I drove Advance front discharge as well as Phoenix and Oshkosh mixers. Whenever I see a mixer trucking on down the road, I still feel a little tug at my heart. I loved driving mixers and I always will. If I could, I'd still be driving concrete now.

Five years of driving a ready mix truck, and it’s still in my blood, because I dream about it, I have driven Mack mixer trucks, International Paystar mixer trucks , Auto-Car mixer trucks, I even drove a rusty old Ford mixer truck without any dashboard lights, but I never drove a Kenworth or a Peterbilt mixer truck.

i also am a retired teamster concrete driver.i worked for wakefield concrete for 17 yrs, then we were sold to maclellan concrete whr i worked for another 13 yrs.at wakefield we had all autocars.then we got new peterbilts at maclellan.while the petes whr more comfortable, and had more power, they were useless if you had to go off road.autocars were some of the best trucks i ever drove.

Before "front-discharge" mixers became popular, the two most common makes from Boston to Philadelphia were Autocar and Mack. Few things could seriously damage one.

I would rather have an old 6 x Autocar pull up to a sandy footer or slab then any of the new ones. A good driver could put one anywhere...There's still some great drivers out there but the new trucks have their limits.

I am not a teamster. Really don’t care about the union . Good for nothing if you show up to work and do your job . Only my opinion of course . Nice to see some old mixers though . Takes me back .

Yeah I was a non union driver. It wouldn't matter to me if I was unionized, I busted my butt and tried real hard and I loved what I did for work. The trucks were great and the company recognized my efforts.
