Vidui (Confession)

- One of the most challenging and difficult things is to admit a mistake and ask for forgiveness. On Yom Kippur we ask for both personal and communal forgiveness. What is unique in the Jewish tradition is the communal way we confess our sins. The Vidui(Confession) is chanted together in a major mode, taking pride in the fact that we make room, both in our sanctuary and in our hearts, for all people to repent.
Rabbi Elliot Cosgrove shared a fascinating story about forgiveness between cantors as an introduction to both Vidui, and to our album ‘Heritage’ which was released last year. It is beautiful and educational moments like that which makes me look forward to our High Holidays services every year.
We hope that his words, along with our musical confession, help and encourage you to look within and create space for admission and forgiveness in your own heart.

Pls forgive our sins have mercy on us & the whole 🌎🕊pls give your 🌎✌️🕊🇳🇮🇮🇷🇺🇦 & Victory t y for singing. Cantor Azi Shalom Shalom Shalom Aichem 🙏🕊❤️💕❤️🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏
Fascinating...as a Roman Catholic, I can tell you in our Traditional Church, our “Confidior “(? Latin) is that part of the Mass, where we as a congregation confess our sins and ask God for forgiveness:”Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea maxima Culpa “, which translates from Latin, means “through our fault, through our fault, through our most grievous fault “, saying these words as we, the more orthodox among us , strike our chests in exactly the same way as this Jewish confessional is prayed....
The Viduy or the Jewish Confessional prayer is a very powerful prayer, as it evokes God’s mercy and atonement upon the Jewish people.
It encapsulates the qualities and the attributes and binds us in the relationship
with God and also in the relationship with
each and every Jewish person
It's sounds as beautiful and perfect as any Opera that I've ever heard on the radio..
God's word promises;
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.. THEN I will hear from heaven and THEN I will heal their lands"
Our entire whole world is in need of a Yom Kippur and may we humanity begin to understand the importance of repentance and forgiveness Brings healing restorations and blessings from our great God The most High God Jehovah The Great I AM The Alpha and the Omega The Beginning and the End The Covenant Keeper Our everlasting Creator The Ancient of Days who loves us and will never give up on a one of us that seeks his mercy and repentance shalom. 💙
Our creator is not the ancient of days.

Dear Azi Schwartz, thank you very much for the music and for sharing the anecdotal account of the German Jewish cantorial tradition as narrated by the Rabbi.

Vidui .... Adonai Melekh
Importantisimo.
«Ashamnu, Bagadnu, Gazalnu, Dibarnu dofi, Heevinu, Vehirshanu, Zadnu, Jamasnu, Tafalnu shéker, Iaatznu ra, Kizavnu, Latznu, Maradnu, Niatznu, Sararnu, Avinu, Pashanu, Tzararnu, Kishinu óref, Rashanu, Shijatnu, Tiavnu, Tainu, Tiatanu».
Sararnu: Del verbo lasur (desviarse).
Kishinu oref: Endurecimos nuestra nuca.
Shijatnu: Nos hemos corrompido.
Amen!!!
I would like to get this cd can I buy it ?
who is the german author of the song please ? I dont understand the name

Why is there music playing on Yom Kippur?
Theirs a reason all the comments are saying it sounds like a church. Disgraceful
I wish I could understand it in the original, not in the translation.
Whose arrangement is this?
I've NEVER seen anything like this in my life and I'm Jewish...
Me too
What kind of rabbi are you? You seem like a missionary. This is a beautiful rendition of the viddui. One of the world's best cantors with a choir and organ, which is common in Reform and some Conservative synagogues
This is one of the leading conservative shuls in America. The tune is the same used by everyone
You're not Jewish my love you're Messie. We do this every year.
@@samueljenney but we are grafted in by your Messiah. We are Israel.

They say “Al Chet” ( על חטא ) but sin right at the same moment by playing music on the Holiest day of the year which is Yom Kippur, 🤔 🤣
Lol.
gotohowie Playing music is not a sin. The actual sin is rejecting Yeshua the Jewish Messiah
They dont say אל חטא this is just selichot
@@judyfischmann3912 its Vidu and its part of Yom Kipor davening,. Music and Mics are against the Torah on this day last time I checked. It's a reform Synagogue obviously
Judy Fischmann על חטא is part of Yom Kipper davening, on selichot there’s no על חטא
as stated below,,,COOL RABBIS, GIRLS STANDING RUBBING SHOULDERS WITH ME, SINGING SELLING CDS, A CONCERT WOW GREAT REMEMBERING THE GERMAN GREATNESS....WHAT CAN A REFORM ASK FOR BETTER THEN THIS......NOW LET ME FIND A '''SHUL''' THAT REMEMBERS ''''G-D'''''.
Don't be so cynical. and for your information Mohsiach Tzidkeinu will be far more open and PASHUT than many religious people imagine. For my part, I am happy to see an Israeli boy do so well for himself. His Hebrew is excellent, and his sincerity is expressed in his voice. I hope that Hashem hears their prayers and that all of them will soon be trying to sell their homes there and move to Israel. Only part of the mitzvot can be performed by any Jew outside of Eretz Israel. And all Jews have a portion in the world to come, especially if they repent. And we hope to see mass repentance soon, especially in light of this plague.
I CONFESS, AH LOVE TO CONFESS WITH BEAUTIFUL WOMAN NEXT TO ME WHILE HER HANDS ARE IN MY POCKET. SHE CONFESSES AH CONFESS, WE ALL CONFESS.....
Wow
moshe gleb...wow what? YOU SHOULD SAY 'WOW' TO THE SICKNESS FROM WHAT THEY DID TO JUDAISM. THEY ARE COMPLETING WHAT HITLER STARTED.
@@dacon999 yes that is what im saying wow to. Wow to what they are doing to keeping Torah and halacha and yiddishkeit in general
jimmy , STOP THE DESECRETION OF TORAH GIVEN AT MOUNT SINAI.
beautiful rendition but if you read the translation to what you are confessing you will be shocked. I refused to say many of the verses. no way.
We confess together as a community. We are all connected in some way.
If these people were truly repentant, they would recognize that Yeshua was indeed the Jewish Messiah
He was not.
Isi Hosena People who think He was not usually speak out of voluntary ignorance because they have no proof. Yeshua is the Messiah
@@RyanEngelbrecht5 of course he's not the messiah. And yes i have proof
@James Lauricia Yeshua the Messiah and King of the Jews!
@Khaver 25 The Torah also says to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Why are you making nasty insults?
It is written in the Torah only the shedding of blood can forgive sins. This presentation is a farce, filled with hypocrites pretending to be pious one day out of the year. And Yeshua the Jewish Messiah was the only acceptable sacrifice for Yom Kippur because only God can forgive sins.
You yourself are a judaizer, an abomination to the Lord Christ
