I just finished watching Episode 5. And I don't really like Bunta that much. Like dude, street racing ain't as easy as buying Legos and straight building it. You need alot of skill and resolve. One wrong move sends you to the hospital and your car will need some pricey repairs. It may look like a game at first but it's no different from challenging a pro sniper to a gun fight.
Yep. This is how the anime actually looks. And it’s the most goddamn impressive animation in all of anime. This was made in the 90s back when CGI was barely even known. This whole first season is held together by tape and glue, and it still shocks me how good it looks for it’s time.
Takumi was only doing this because he promised a girl he'd go to the beach with her. Bored or not, he just did this for some chick (who eventually turned out to be a big sleaze).
@@lugialover09 I got the impression that Takumi didn't really care much for Natsuki despite their reconciliation. Throughout Fourth Stage, only once does he think about her, and even then, it seemed to have been a case of momentary melancholy. But at this early stage of the whole show, he wasn't even really all too keen on doing battles, because the car for him had become associated with driving uphill for the deliveries and then fooling around on the downhill... Driving, in his mind, must have been such a stupidly inane thing to do, nevermind that he did it all before first light, and nevermind that he was illegally driving without a licence 😂🤣 He only did this battle because he ended up wanting to impress a girl and his dad gave him a prerequisite for going on that journey to the beach - a prerequisite, mind, that Bunta put onto Takumi because the local hoons needed their local pride to be saved. Otherwise, he wouldn't have cared.
Keisuke wasn't racing to win he was just racing to say he has the better car Takumi was racing to win because there's a full tank as the prize for winning
Not really. In this race, Keisuke race for a revenge victory for the humiliation he suffered a few nights earlier. For Takumi. He just need that full-tank gas to go on a date.

There’s not one moment in MF ghost that keeps you on edge like this episode. It’s so raw and natural with the crowd cheering through each corner, shift knob and pedal footwork audio and you can literally hear the wind pressing off the car as it speeds through.
MF Ghost feels to disconnect from the audience. Back in Initial D days, you can relate this whole race, scene and the whole street racing itself with the car culture of that time in 1998. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE THERE. You are watching a race almost the same way as the other people. MF Ghost focus on the professional side of racing destroy this relation. I highly doubt that majority of the watcher coming from Initial D enjoy watching the motor sports in real life. The society in real life is also not really enjoy motor sport unless they're extremely hardcore car fan. So it's impossible to create a familiarity with MF Ghost like they did with Initial D.
@@Heylanda-fb9xb I tired mf ghost I LOVED the more professional side HOWEVER I think the weakest element by far was the characters They all seemed so bland And having the MC basically already be at his best takes a lot of the fun outta it I loved watch takumi grow, and for him to realise how much he loves racing But you don't get that in ghost Plus, it rubbed me the wrong way that there was SO much screen time on minors asses
The worst part of MF Ghost is how it was the reason for Takumi's downfall by crippling him due to an accident. I mean, sure, the author wanted to stop the possibility of a student vs. teacher battle happening in the series, but bruh, they practically almost did it in Initial D as well anyways, with Bunta only having just ONE unofficial battle scene against Takumi, and proving that the legend is still the strongest, but eventually, the main character also grows to be on that same level even if we don't see it happen in a real battle anymore. MF Ghost, on the other hand, just totally destroyed that plot for me, and all purely because of it, I'm no longer interested to watch it. So long as there'd never be a possibility of even a glimpse of student vs. teacher's battle, I would never be interested, let alone destroying Takumi's legacy in that way. Retiring would absolutely be the best choice, but even that is far from being an acceptable plot, considering that Takumi's still well within his prime when he entered the rally world. So many wrongs in MF Ghost that I simply don't want to watch it at all. That's also beside the fact that the modern-day race cars there are nowhere near as unique and special as the ones in Initial D.
"strange, there are people at each turn" Sayuki would find that cute. So naive, he didn't know they were there to watch him race and eventually become a legend.
