Yes, this was one of the best interviews with Aptera but If you haven't yet, also check out the latet interview Chad and Sarah from the "Drive The Lightning" RUclips channel did with Chris Anthony in January!

Great interview! Let's get Aptera the money they need to get this vehicle to production. This vehicle could make a big difference on climate change if they make these in large numbers.
Fantastic interview and great questions guys, well done! Thanks again to Aptera and Jason Hill for taking time to be available for video like this... this kind of transparency and interaction build rock--solid customer loyalty!!
Excellent interview. I’d love to be at the top end investing in the Aptera. Unfortunately I am at the bottom praying the price doesn’t go up to high from inflation. I’d planned to get a EV as my next vehicle but the suckers were way out of my price range. Then along came this. I’ll probably keep it, charging, protected in the garage when at the house. But it will be nice to have it charge by the sun when out and about. Thanks again for such a informative interview.
Thank you. The interview was so interesting. You’re a very good interviewer. The best interview of Jason Hill I’ve seen. Great job editing. Jason Hill is a genius. From a Jason Hill groupie. 😉
Fun interview. You guys had some really challenging questions for Jason, and as always he had some insightful answers. I eagerly jumped on the Accelerate Aptera program, and I am enthusiastic that it will help bring the Aptera to production sooner, rather than later. I am excited to get my Launch Edition model!
Dean, Re: Aptera ROI. What might be Aptera’s projected margins, e.g., relative to Rivian, out the gate & at the year 1 & 2 marks, given their comparatively (thanks to Munro Assocs. & CPC) highly prefabbed manufacturing & streamlined assembly concepts of operations?
@@Crunch_dGH Really good questions. Aptera had stated early on that they would have healthy margins due to streamlined operations, simplified assembly, smaller battery packs, and lower part counts. But they did decide to shift the original composite body design to CPC's forged carbon fiber/SMC body and panels in Italy after the demand for the Aptera climbed from a couple thousand EVs anticipated, to the current 40K+ reservations. Plus the sharply rising costs of battery materials and other components must make it harder for them to keep from raising prices from the original 2020 estimated prices, and yet maintain a good profit margin. Still, I think that they have locked in solid partners and suppliers, and they are focused on continuing lean operations through to production. But I'll leave it to Aptera to project their ROI after their initial production, scaling to volume production, and their subsequent IPO.
Fantastic interview. What we are seeing in Aptera is the direction EV design needs to go. Greater range and performance while using less battery materials equals a capable and affordable EV.
Aptera has already stated that they will support the ‘right to repair’ movement, but what I’d really love to know is how far they are willing to go with that. Would they be open to a self build option, for example? There are a lot of talented builders out there.
I saw a comment on another channel saying that Aptera should market themselves as this 2 seater being a gateway to a 4/5 seater thats coming next. I think thats a good idea, might help attract more millions of dollar investor types? They might see a two seater as a niche car.. if they had it drilled into them the plan is to have a 4/5 seater next theyd feel better about the ability to make some money when sales go up with the 4 seater
There’s a marked difference in this interview from Aptera Owners Club. Jason speaks faster and more to the point. Not sure if it’s the questions or the intelligence of the interviewer. Either way, lots of great information and questions not asked in the past. Can’t wait till mine is ready for pick up.
There are hints of the range of vehicles Aptera has been thinking about in the SEC reports. I think Aptera has been slow speaking of this because of the essential need to get this first product on the road. However, as they near IPO, we will be hearing more of this subject.
Aptera has a huge potential market with the current design alone. They have years of refinement and ramp ahead on the current vehicle. Going aggressively into markets with lots of direct competition and competing on price is a recipe for disaster.
@@ccibinel I recall Sandy Munro saying (IRC in a 3-wheeler related conversation) "if you want to lose money build a 4-wheeled vehicle". He didn't elaborate on that one but my guess is that some silly regulations might be the deeper reason for his conclusion.
The Aptera that i reserved is for a 600 mile/ all wheel drive/ full solar panel. Mainly because, i keep reading about other EVs losing out on range during winter and also the phantom drain (about 2%+. every day). I hope aptera's phantom drain will not be so much since it does not use as many cameras and other electronics for its surveillance mode.

Nice interview, but I really hated the background noise. It was too distracting and made this feel super edited and not just an interview / podcast vibe.
Based on the current dating and marriage rate, I’d say a 2 seater will become more popular in time. This would also make for a great kit car. Buy what you can, as you need it. In the end it might cost a bit more but man, what a challenge.
I especially liked your question about the watt per mile difference between the 25kwh and 100kwh versions. I didn't fully understand the answer. Could you clarify if you got a better idea of the efficiency difference?
Given the incredible 0.13 drag cd and new statements from Chris about the 2000lb weight for the 400 mile launch edition and 2400lb for the 1000 mile we can model the numbers reasonably. This puts the 55mph 250 mile efficiency at 86.16 wh/m and 1000 mile at 97.66 wh/m (before considering any aux drain which is probably 200w - far more if you need heat or cooling). The design is efficient but it is still a significant difference with weight.
If you check out Aptera latest video mid way, there are some B-roll showing how the vehicle handles potholes and rough roads. I'm sure they will release more info on handling and durability further in production
I really wished you had faded out the background music. There’s really no reason for it past the introduction as it’s distracting to what is being said
Great interview. Also amazing to me to have a designer from California talking about hockey :) Self driving when on your own land is probably not that tricky from a legal or practical perspective.
Not at all. In the very least there will be the VIN number - that is unique for every vehicle produced. Surely there will be some other identifying features inside the cabin as well, though they may be subtle.
As an investor and reservation holder, I ordered the 1000 mi version. But if this version delays delivery, I’ll downside to 600. Hopefully, 8” greater width than a Plaid doesn’t cause parking problems or charging at a Tesla Supercharger.
Very interesting . Watching this near the end sparked a question in my mind . . . can the cells convert other forms of light or only sunlight ? What if the vehicle is parked in a lighted garage for example !
Light is light, no matter the source. However, room lighting is less than 10% the brightness of sunlight, so the energy transfer is that same less than 10%. Plugging it in is a way quicker way to charge, if an ordinary wall outlet is within reach. Of course you can plug it in and charge from the room lighting at the same time to charge even faster. 🤓
