3:13 - 4:15 This plays after Betty runs away from Moody after he beat her at the school and tells her his intention to kill her for her disobedience. And when she makes that phone call crying, this scene literally makes me sad every time.
Jerry was the best ever. So very missed in the music world. Noone will ever be better. God bless him and may he fly with the angels and put his music in me to write.
Love the film after all these years, love the theme... Especially the electronic synth the best from 5:10, so camp late 80's/early 90's, just amazing and Sally Field and Alfred Molona were amazing
@@ingridcalderon1994 Just what was she thinking ? Men in that country see women as less than and it's been that way for a long time now . WAKE UP GIRLS IT WON'T CHANGE EVER
What does that say about you and your choices ...THINK I'm sure the signs were there and you overlooked them . Your "Rose Colored glasses" blinded you to the monster that he was. His fault no doubt but c'mon were you blind. I'm glad you got away ....hey better choices next time you'll be fine it took courage to get out. Stand Tall and NEVER AGAIN
I know nothing about this film, but I knew Goldsmith scored it, so wanted to check it out. This is good early 90's era material - interesting that I can hear elements of "Medicine Man" here.
I love Goldsmith's music composing in that movie. If he hadn't composed, then the movie wouldn't have been emotional and intense. There's just on thing I have to mention. When I first saw Not Without My Daughter, I saw it demonizing the muslim fundamentalists. Not the Iranian culture. The movie is not about trying to get people to hate Iranian culture. Just muslim fundametalism. I fine it very stupid to hear controversy bullshit.
yes I know lovely iranian people who have suffered from the problems in their country. Iran is a beautiful country and culture it's just the governments and extremism that's the problem. Anyway not every iranian person is muslim. The iranians I know belonged to a religion that caused them to hung for their beliefs.
This score is very similar to scores written today by James Newton Howard, Howard Shore, James Horner, etc. It goes to show that good film composers are not constrained by time. A composer from primarily the 70' and 80's, such as Goldsmith, could have written this score today...and still be relevant.
+Adam V. The story was extremely predictable. The plot was very mellow dramatic yet the music and cinematography made it look like a horror movie. The acting was really not good. There was only one emotion on the actors faces throughout the entire movie. U could go on but that would take long.
Jeremy Dumont You do understand that this movie is based on a true story, right? Also, Sally Field was excellent in this. Where exactly was the acting bad?
+Adam V. It says based on a true story, but come on, would everything in this movie be exactly how it happened. They probably added a good 30 minutes of story to be able to make a movie. The ending was also extremely predictable because it was true, (and the fact that they completely remade the story to an extant where there was nothing similar to the actual events). You knew she would get out, yet the movie tries to make you think she won't and fails at that. The acting is terrible. Every and I mean every character has one emotion (except for the person you're talking about who smiles or is sad and sacred.)
1:43-2:20, 7:30-7:45 & 8:36-9:19 touches my soul😍
He is one of the few composers who i feel that. John Williams comes close at times
Jerry Goldsmith war einfach genial...hat die besten Soundtracks geschrieben
I have loved this movie and the closing theme ever since I first saw it! Thank you so much for posting this!!!

This perfectly describes my separation/divorce from my horrible narcisstic husband... he was so cruel to me and our children. Monster!

Mahtob was major student and now, a doctor.
