- Step by step installation of a Kenwood amplifier in my 2008 Pontiac G6 with a factory, non-monsoon head unit. Be sure to disconnect the battery prior to removing the head unit and reconnect it after the installation is complete. NOTE: When reinstalling the head unit the message "CD changer parked" will be displayed. Do not be alarmed. Simply press the CD load button and the message will not reappear.
I have the same car I got as far as taking everything apart I'm a lil confused on the connection parts.. I have a boss amp my rcas are red and black though. If you could help I'd appreciate it
Red is usually the right side and black would be left side. So you should have two reds and two blacks then, a red and black for the front and a red and black for the rear. I explain how to connect them starting at 8:00 in the video. You don’t have to solder the connections, you can crimp them but i like to solder wires like this that are not easy to get to. Good luck
Dude i have a question, where are the crossovers for the tweeters and woofers and mid-bass in an all factory car? Are they in the factory amp in the trunk? Are they in the door panel/kick panel? Are they on the speakers themselves?
Trunk brother
Its gotta be a 4 channel amp right? Because 4 factory speakers? I dont want to buy the wrong amp
Abel Vargas yep. The 400w Kenwood i got is still on Amazon for $99 as of today.
High level input would've been allot easier, but this video is awesome
Mike Gogel thanks. 👍🏼
Did you use the factory speakers or did you add new one as well??
I installed new speakers in the front and back previous to installing this amp and i made videos for installing those too. Just search my channel and you'll see them.
I have a screeching sound and a rattling noise in my speakers what do I need to replace?
Blown speakers
No sound
what’s a filter on the power wire ? how do you do this? thanks
If your getting a humming or buzzing noise through your speakers as you accelerate it’s likely coming from the alternator. A filter connected inline with the power cable to the stereo will eliminate the noise. There’s RUclips videos on how to do that. Good luck.
@@LoFiMofo thanks so much ! ⭐️
@@LoFiMofo sometimes that humming is a ground or in my past experience a crap set of rca plugs
So what about the factory amp? Did you have to take it out.
Denver Staib there was no factory amp , just the head unit. Monsoon system is different though but mine was the basic head unit.
so where do you connect the remote wire for the amp cause I have the same car and everything
Run a switch or connect to a fuse. I would do research on that tho
Blue wire on factory harness pretty sure
anything thats keyed 12 volts
