Man tased by Police at a Wauwatosa cemetery remains in critical condition

- A man remains in critical condition after he went into cardiac arrest after being tased by Wauwatosa Police officers back on May 22nd.
"He wasn't violent that day or prior. He's never a violent person. He wasn't armed. I mean, we were at a cemetery," said his wife, who spoke to TMJ4's Ryan Jenkins on the condition that we didn't publish her name.
She said her husband, 37-year-old Johnny George, has been fighting for his life at Froedtert Hospital for nearly a month.
The family said it all started after they called 911 because of a medical emergency involving someone else.
"The EMTs were called, then the police arrived on the scene and events unfolded and Johnny was tased and now he's in the hospital in a coma," said Paul Kinne. He's the family's attorney.
Jenkins drove to Madison on Thursday to meet with him and to hear their side of the story for the very first time.

no one called the cops. they called emts for someone else having a medical emergency. the cops just showed up because they're bored stupid.
That's what my wife always said and I am glad for how smart she was about that too. We would get into arguments that were screaming loud and really bad and she never called the cops on me. Ever.

They called the cops for help. Boy that was dumb. When have the cops ever helped somebody? Take care of it yourself. Never even speak to the cops for fear they may be criminals because crooked cops are very common today. Crooked uninformed and violent cops are out there. You as a citizen need knowledge of rights to protect yourself and your family. Record police interactions. Always.

I guess, true enough... but perhaps "militarized" might mean "disciplined", and even though many police have many toys, because of many factors including unions, indemnification and qualified immunity, there can be a lack of discipline.

We are going to have to hold cops accountable in the streets because the lawmakers are refusing to do it the judges won't hold them accountable the prosecutors won't hold them accountable so it's going to come down to the citizens holding cops accountable in the streets because the people that are supposed to refuse to. And then we can start holding prosecutors account on the streets and then the judge is accountable on the streets and then the lawmakers accountable on the streets until they realize they work for us

I never understood why police ate given a free pass deploying the Taser when it tesults in serious harm and injury. Why isn't there a presumption that it might be excessive force against health compromised victims and therefore rules of deployment need to be more rigorous? Yasets are reasonably considered or presumed lethal force so the circumstances surrounding its employment must warrant use of lethal force.
The family's attorney said, "The police overreacted." He did not say what. Also, if there was no fight (as the family contends) there could be no overreaction. By definition, a stimulus happens, then a reaction to that stimulus occurs. No fight, no stimulus. No stimulus, no reaction, or even overreaction. In typical lawyer fashion he is slippery with his words without coming out and overtly lying. With body cameras running and tons of witnesses around no sane person/police officer will taze a perfectly compliant and non-reactive person for no reason whatsoever. There was some reason (stimulus) but the attorney is trying to minimize or marginalize it.
There's not enough information to make a judgement call on this. If the wife was there why isn't she saying how the events unfolded. If the police did nothing wrong then why not release the body cams. No one is telling the whole story here.
There is no condition where cops can't fk it up or make it worse.

Seems like the answer should be simple enough to find. Let's see the body cams and dash cams of the police. If police don't have cameras, or they're not providing the footage, then we know they are lying. In this day and age, any law enforcement entity who does not have body cams and dash cams cannot be trusted.
When I see stuff like this I don't feel sorry for police that get injured or killed on duty. Sorry to say.

Anytime the police don’t immediately release bodycam footage or any footage for that matter tells us all we need to know. When it shows them in a good light they release it immediately when it’s bad they don’t…. So they are obviously guilty!!
