In my humble - this has the hallmark of 'Home' about it - it haunts the senses and like Home it will change colour and mood every time it is played. For me it's like looking at a master work in a gallery - every angle changes the hue, the perspective and the pleasure.
I began to feel light. Then I passed through the ceiling, and flew. I went from a nice blue sky to a immense plain of grass, a majestic tree in the middle of it. After the sun started to fall behind the horizon. It became a maelström of stars and dust. After a whole turn of beauty, I opened my eyes. I am just... relieved and gratefull. You, sir, dear Andrew are a jewel, a lighthouse in the dark. THANK you so much for the music, and showing once again how powerful it is !
Wow! This is one of the prettiest sounding songs I've ever heard. Your music and talent are so inspiring, thank you Andrew for gifting the world with yet another masterpiece!!
The whole scene with the barn back there. The gentle breeze blowing the wild grapes. The old fashioned brick steps just lends an air to the beauty. The free-flowing beauty of this piece I could just sense that you're just your freedom of playing is so expressive and joyful showing us with the sweet life. Looks like I loved playing like that too. Just allowing my spirit to just explore the different chords. I love the way it changed. Key was so cool! Thank you brother Andrew
Isn't life sweet? Surely, you just have to listen to this new piece by Andrew and you will be convinced for sure. What a gift this song is! Top marks for composition, interpretation and instrument.
This marvelous composition begins with apparent simplicity and expands into complex variations that will challenge the accomplished player. The tonal variations up the neck reward repeated listening. Maestro York's body of work explores contemporary sensibilities while resting on timeless melodic principles. To watch these mature tunes appear in glorious RUclips videos is to witness in our time an emerging repertoire for the classical guitar that musicians in the future will look back on as we do now to Sor and Tarrega and Villa-Lobos. What a delight!
Heng Sure, I'm honored by the depth of your comment on Sweet Life! Thank you and I wish we could find ourselves in the same place at the same time and share some stories.
Annette's touch is abundantly obvious in the backdrop used to highlight this beautiful musical piece. It's all too easy to assume that throwing a musician into a natural setting will make the visual interesting. I know from experience (because I've been guilty of this myself) that even the most beautiful of natural backgrounds can just "eat up a player." I'm learning as I go that a scene still must have context even if it is stunningly beautiful in its own right. So, I couldn't help but notice that Annette perfectly (and literally) framed you within the brick-work, trellis, and garden building, adding the visual context the scene needed. Great teamwork! ✌
Thank you very much, Herr Unsinn. But the praise belongs to Andy. He is the one who chose the spot and made it look good 😀. I only filmed and edited the video.

It’s so inspiring that Andrew’s “tunes” are so beautiful yet so approachable for us bedroom players: It’s far more satusfying to be able to get the fingering down (nearly!) and to then work on being as expressive as Maestro York, rather than struggling with left and right hand pyrotecnics that will never sound accomplished, no matter how hard and long you practice.
