They need to just leave him there. It is not worth the government funding or man power to even try to bring back a delinquent. Just leave him there. That is what he wanted after all.
The real question is what did this soldier did and what punishment was he going to receive from the US military that make him decide going to North Korea was the better option?
It depends on the length of his MOS ( job) training, but it is almost impossible to get through basic and AIT (if it is still called that) without being at least a PFC without having prior disciplinary issues.
You can leave basic as a PVT or PV2. PFC if you made top honors. and what youre referring to is OSUT (one station unit training). But truth be told, if you have discipline issues in basic, two things can happen: one you get recycled or two: you get a chapter for failure to adapt. Either way its a general discharge.

This guy reminds me of James, Joseph Dresnok, he’s a US soldier who defected to North Korea somewhere in the 50s or 60s and became a movie star
“Switching sides”
Just leave him there hey he wanna be where he's at period don't waste any sort of resources to get him back
idk i gotta hear his side bcus u can make any assumption u want as to why he did it but u never know until u hear it from the horses mouth
You should go there and interview him.
Anyone dumb enough to run into North Korea should just be left there. Bye.
Well,I guess you're taking a one way trip to N.Korea then 😂
How are people that sneak into North Korea treated?
How are people that sneak into America treated?
Let him stay.
He will be the first black president of North Korea if he stops misbehaving and follows all the rules and regulations of the Communist Party.
He'll regret it forever
"Truth, you can't handle the truth."
Well, North Korea won't put up with bad behavior. If he got in trouble in South Korea then DPRK will be much worse.
Within a year N.K. will give him a Japanese wife kidnapped off a fishing vessel in international waters, and he'll be the lead villain in anti- western propaganda films. It was actually a pretty good life for the guys who defected years earlier, they achieved something of a celebrity status in that country.
Things don't change over 60 years? Ok then
lol the US promised the same fairytale life to those HK rioters, many of whom are trying to flee back to China🤣
@@HiddenAgendaswhat are you smoking? 🤨
Nevermind just saw your comment History 😂😂
Well if living in poverty in a crumbling Soviet style cement building eating rice for the rest of your life is what you call good. Lol.
@@NoName-ml5yk Sounds like you've been there, when did you defect and how'd you escape?
I thought anyone trying to cross was shot on sight. Seriously surprised he isn't dead.
Leave him. He did this to himself. If he is a coward and dont want to face the music for what he did, then leave him be. I saw someone say that they are sorry for his mother. He didnt care for his mother to do what he did, soni have no sympathy. I will pray fo4 her but he is a coward. I ca say this because i was once and active duty marine. "Esprit de corps," is the motto we follow, along with "Semper Fidelis." He has no honor. He has no honor for the uniform he wears and he has no values. So leave him. He is nothing more than a traitor.
That was a dumb move.
폭행혐의가 있으면 벌을 받으면되지 왜 굳이 지옥을향해 간걸까..
How did it trigger the alarm in the dmz
The news shows a picture of trump, but they won’t show the picture of soldier Travis King…says everything I need to know about their bias
Cause he be black
He will be the first black president of North Korea. Who knows.
I don’t mean to sound callous but …..his goal was obviously to be in North Korea…..I mean…let him stay. There’s no way that the energy of arguing with them is worth it if he wanted to be there more than he wanted punishments here.
Pvt second class😂😂😂 it’s just pvt😂
Thank you! Somebody had to say it.
\\ PedoJoe will probably try and make King PFC of the Army
\\ [One up, one down, and two stars in the middle]
His rank is Private Second Class (PV2).
They're not making anything up.
@@ColoradoMedic Wow, that's dumb.
I guess he escaping tyranny to a place of less tyranny?
Let them keep him I say , nothing to see here in my opinion ! 💯🤷🏾♂️👁⏳
If you ran to nk then you know your country is badddd
Sounds like this guy was trouble everywhere he went and didn’t want to be held accountable here in the states.
Probably saved a lot of problems here in the US by leaving
Take care of your poor and your millions of homeless, to say nothing about millions without insurance. To get cancer in usa means you go bankrupt
He will be the first black president of North Korea if he stops misbehaving and follows all the rules and regulations of the Communist Party.
time to send in denis rodman....
If he did it on his own accord he can stay there.
Leave him there and show his photo.

How does a soldier awaiting disciplinary action and awaiting transportation to the USA……leave the airport and join a tourist group to the DMZ? What a sad joke? The North Koreans may not return him and I am pretty sure he will regret what he did….once he experiences North Korean “hospitality “ in that sad and repressive country.
something tells me he really messed up to run away and or has very important info...
He is a pv2 with prior disciplinary action, no way he has important info.
Hahahaha what infro 😅
They need to just leave him there. It is not worth the government funding or man power to even try to bring back a delinquent. Just leave him there. That is what he wanted after all.
He will be the first black president of North Korea if he stops misbehaving and follows all the rules and regulations of the Communist Party.
The real question is what did this soldier did and what punishment was he going to receive from the US military that make him decide going to North Korea was the better option?
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING. Something is off
@@toniafoxferguson86he assaulted several South Koreans. That's what he did
Yes. That information has been released.
Leave him!
Better he live with them then here in the United States.
He will be the first black president of North Korea if he stops misbehaving and follows all the rules and regulations of the Communist Party.
There's no such thing as a Private Second Class lol
Are front line US troops in this much disarray?
The Navy is using a drag queen to recruit. Does that answer your question. 😅
No
Leave him! I'm curious what he was being disciplined for
It depends on the length of his MOS ( job) training, but it is almost impossible to get through basic and AIT (if it is still called that) without being at least a PFC without having prior disciplinary issues.
Nope, many combat arms Soldiers get to their first duty station as PV2
You can leave basic as a PVT or PV2. PFC if you made top honors. and what youre referring to is OSUT (one station unit training). But truth be told, if you have discipline issues in basic, two things can happen: one you get recycled or two: you get a chapter for failure to adapt. Either way its a general discharge.
As a Pv2 throughout BCT and AIT and even six months into my first Unit… yeah you can be a Pv2.
Almost impossible? Did you serve? If you did serve and think it is almost impossible you weren’t paying attention when you served.
Exactly.. I was PFC before I even went to boot camp. He must’ve been PFC but got demoted for doing some bs.
Let him stay there. He wanted to go.
i guess his life is over
What Leverage does this give North Korea
Keep him !
Let him stay over there it is where he wants to be!
He will be the first black president of North Korea.
He maybe faced a dishonorable discharge.
His family better pray for a miracle.
Wow...
There was a documentary about a soldier who ran away to N.K. during the Korean War and how “great” he had it. So I wonder if Private King saw that and decided that that he’d escape the big meanies of the US military to go live in an authoritarian and totalitarian society.
I can’t roll my eyes hard enough at the stupidity of sone people.
A country must be very bad like with mass shootings everyday that you feel safer in nk
US better not make some stupid deal to get this guy out. He wasnt kidnapped, hes not a POW. He made his choice on his own accord. let him stay.
OMG PRAYING FOR HIS MOMMA.
He's gonna need a prayer a lot more than his momma!
@@larssandvik1347What's an exection?😂
