As someone who got into Cyberpunk through the 2077 game, i absolutely fell in love with the lore and your channel. Your calm yet not boring delivery makes your videos so enjoyable, plus you always manage to back your theories at least to some degree, which makes me wonder even more about the world of Cyberpunk and yearn for a 2077-esque game set in the "beginning", like the 90s or early 2000s.
Well I'm grateful to have a choom like you watching my content. This channel is a nice break to do what I enjoy separate from work and education, but it also lets me express creativity and passion that kind of gets restricted otherwise. I think the Biotechnica "Meatbag" (one word) is a reference to Futurama and Knights of the Old Republic. In Futurama, Bender refers to humans as Meatbags, and in KOTOR, the assassin droid would refer to all humans as Meatbags.
Here's the thing...this would be hugely disturbing in the real world. But cyberpunk is a tech dystopia. In the original RPG, people could get animal grafts easily and cheaply. It was common enough that you could get feathers grafted in a mall kiosk. So this isn't really that much of a conspiracy theory. People would probably not even be that surprised to find out it was done. The tech needed is relatively commonplace in Corp circles. Even in 2020. And this game takes place over half a century AFTER that. So while interesting (and it is interesting) it's really not all that freaky to me in the context of the game. Full body conversions are freakier. And those already exist publicly.
Now I get them telling V that his body can’t be swapped cause he doesn’t have any heirs like arasaka did in the devil ending; but Johnny’s biochip altered Vs dna to his own allowing it to be accepting, all they need to do is place Vs engram in a willing subject for Vs engram to rewrite the dna of that person
V’s engram would need to be placed on another prototype biochip like the one Johnny was held on. They aren’t abundant. There are so few that the only one anyone knows about is the one in V’s head holding Johnny’s engram. Not just ANY biochip. The Relic.

Yeah, I have a real weak grasp of what the diet is of the average Night City citizen. There isn't much focus on what you eat or drink. Oddly enough, there is a lot of consumables throughout the entire game. I'm only familiar with some references that V makes about food. There are some comments from Jackie, Misty, Goro and obviously on the radio with Mike. The biggest thing I've come across was the trailer with some people who were experimenting with growing tomatoes. I think it was one scientist and a couple of Kang Tao guards. There's a shard and I think it may have been a reference to meeting with a representative from BioTechnica. The scientist and guards were wiped out. The people meeting them are leaving in an AV when you get close to this meeting spot. It's in Watson. They don't want people growing healthy food? Weird...
Corps dont want you to eat healthy, grow your own food and be content with what u have. They want you to be dependent on them, their processed food so that you can become fat and spend money on medical need, they dont want an alternative market created by farmers because corps want to pay shit and take all their lands. They want you to lead a miserable life physically, psychology and financially, unable to live without them so they could get rich out of your back. The whole thing could be true for both the 2077 universe and ours. Guess which one I described.

Using human clones as food sounds interesting but doesn't work from a volume and financial aspect. I would say creating human clones is probably an expensive endeavor, thus limiting the amount of volume of clones created. The extra costs associated with prepping and packaging human clones to be consumable would only add to the expensive endeavor and unless this were something with the intent of mass production, not only would it be process and cost prohibitive, you wouldn't be able to create enough actual meals to make a dent... it would be simpler, easier and more cost effective to dispose of poor experiments.
No exactly creating the human clones for just meat it's a repeat process you have now a cow that'll purchase it's own meat and drink as well as be your puppet every modification you do and then the roadkill they scrape up at the end (strip for electronics and consciousness sell the meat and cyberware....) Repeat...

I'm willing to buy that someone in Biotechnica decided to dispose of waste that way, more likely off the official books in order to pocket the money. (Both earmarked for disposal and made selling the materials.) As for what else Biotechnica might be doing, every corporation has multiple horrific and shady things going, it's what they do.

I don't wanna get ahead of myself but something tells me like how Arasaka was the forefront for CP2077, Biotechnica 'may' end up being a subject of exploration in the announced sequel. What if the character you start out as in the sequel is a runaway synthetic husk with consciousness?
I definitely hope we get more focus on other corps, especially Biotechnica or some more underground corps that don't draw a lot of public attention. Arasaka has been used as a catalyst for a lot of major conflicts in Cyberpunk, so it'd be nice for it to switch around for a change.

This theory fails at a basic economy level. Why increase your output of "food product" by a tiny fraction of a percentage point (which is what adding the clones to the SCOP would be tantamount to), when the risk of that info coming out would drop your sales and stock price by double digits overnight? And you'd have to spend at least an order of magnitude more money than you'd make in increased profits on media to bury the story and recover your stock price. Not to mention the increased costs of security for this addition to the SCOP being kept secret in the first place. The only way this would be done is if a high-up corpo had a fetish for feeding the poor to the poor. And that corpo would be then replaced by their bloodthirsty underlings over this faster than you can spit. I'm all for corpo conspiracies, but at the end of the day, they need to increase the bottom line, not put it into serious peril.
Well, I have terrible history to tell, process food industry did had human flesh on their products in the past, it was in the beginning of the XX century, but they did, that was one of the reasons why the FDA was created to begin with, so it won't be a novelty, they already did with workers that lost limbs in the unsafe environment in the past, why not with disposable clones? There's no FDA or anything like that in the cyberpunk universe.
I always find these "oh they are using human meat and its such a big industry its so scary they are makign such a huge proffit" just bland and wastefull like using the human body for food would be such a huge waste of resorces to produce then cut up, yes using a lot of the human body for medical reasosn makes sense but once you have taken all that out there isnt much useable meat for food, what little there is left over would still make far far better use for medical perposes and be more profitable than wasting it as a foodstuff

My ideal scenario for the witcher 4 is a cyberpunk cross over hunting the werewolves in night city, I believe in the original concept for Cp2077 was that the werewolves played a bigger part, I think there is evidence of where the "underworld" was to be accessed all over night city in areas like where Kurt gets killed after the failed millitech heist that turned out to be knock off clothes.
I always just thought this was obvious to everyone, didnt realize it was technically not confirmed. I mean you see dead people hanging right next to meatbags all the time its not really hidden even if it isnt blatantly stated in any codex. Besides the obvious soylent green comparison I know Bender in futurama calls humans meatbags and I believe in Fallout the supermutants do as well. Nah.... Idk. I dont think the game story was that good when compared to witcher 3, last of us, horizon zero dawn (just the first ones story). Gameplay was decent, the lore is there for them to use, but the story didnt pull me in like some games do.

Not only that, but they could even make a series about Morgan BlackHand. Even better? Create new characters that became legends from across the city. I could imagine a story about a Night City Legend from HeyWood, its running theme could be quite similar to Narcos. Going against the Aldecaldos and have a few cameos in regards to the border to the outskirts. OR basing a series off of the comic run about a trauma team agent you can look up, maybe even do one about Takemura’s origin.. The ideas are endless and the stories for some characters as well.
Love the vid. There's a lot of made-up kooky bs in real life obviously, but from a meta standpoint, most narratives don't just introduce completely erroneous concepts and then continue to drop little breadcrumbs about them to deliberately mislead players/readers. That wouldn't even really serve as a red herring and would just add some pointless confusion about the world. It's hard enough to get a coherent story across to a broad swath of general audiences without adding extra hurdles. They want the studious and meticulous player to find these clues and piece them together or else why waste time and energy on it? So to my mind that alone makes it all but certain to be true in at least some sense. They may not be saying conclusively "Yes there be werewolves" but it's kinda like asking someone if they did it and getting the reply "No comment" or "I plead the fifth", even if it's legally ironclad we all see red flags at such an obvious deflection. Sounds like you've mined pretty much all there is on the topic and it all checks out. Is it corny for people to make lab-grown werewolves? No more so than any other way life imitates art imitates life and so on and so it goes. Humans draw inspiration from the craziest things and make them reality. It's why we invented airplanes that look like big metal birds, it's why our first weapon was some kinda crude attempt at a claw or tooth... I guess we aren't that smart or creative... just very very observant.

I think the Biotechnica "Meatbag" (one word) is a reference to Futurama and Knights of the Old Republic. In Futurama, Bender refers to humans as Meatbags, and in KOTOR, the assassin droid would refer to all humans as Meatbags.

Here's the thing...this would be hugely disturbing in the real world. But cyberpunk is a tech dystopia. In the original RPG, people could get animal grafts easily and cheaply. It was common enough that you could get feathers grafted in a mall kiosk.
So this isn't really that much of a conspiracy theory. People would probably not even be that surprised to find out it was done. The tech needed is relatively commonplace in Corp circles. Even in 2020. And this game takes place over half a century AFTER that.
So while interesting (and it is interesting) it's really not all that freaky to me in the context of the game. Full body conversions are freakier. And those already exist publicly.
Now I get them telling V that his body can’t be swapped cause he doesn’t have any heirs like arasaka did in the devil ending; but Johnny’s biochip altered Vs dna to his own allowing it to be accepting, all they need to do is place Vs engram in a willing subject for Vs engram to rewrite the dna of that person
V’s engram would need to be placed on another prototype biochip like the one Johnny was held on. They aren’t abundant. There are so few that the only one anyone knows about is the one in V’s head holding Johnny’s engram. Not just ANY biochip. The Relic.

Yeah, I have a real weak grasp of what the diet is of the average Night City citizen. There isn't much focus on what you eat or drink. Oddly enough, there is a lot of consumables throughout the entire game.
I'm only familiar with some references that V makes about food. There are some comments from Jackie, Misty, Goro and obviously on the radio with Mike.
The biggest thing I've come across was the trailer with some people who were experimenting with growing tomatoes. I think it was one scientist and a couple of Kang Tao guards. There's a shard and I think it may have been a reference to meeting with a representative from BioTechnica. The scientist and guards were wiped out. The people meeting them are leaving in an AV when you get close to this meeting spot. It's in Watson. They don't want people growing healthy food? Weird...

Corps dont want you to eat healthy, grow your own food and be content with what u have. They want you to be dependent on them, their processed food so that you can become fat and spend money on medical need, they dont want an alternative market created by farmers because corps want to pay shit and take all their lands. They want you to lead a miserable life physically, psychology and financially, unable to live without them so they could get rich out of your back.
The whole thing could be true for both the 2077 universe and ours. Guess which one I described.

Using human clones as food sounds interesting but doesn't work from a volume and financial aspect. I would say creating human clones is probably an expensive endeavor, thus limiting the amount of volume of clones created. The extra costs associated with prepping and packaging human clones to be consumable would only add to the expensive endeavor and unless this were something with the intent of mass production, not only would it be process and cost prohibitive, you wouldn't be able to create enough actual meals to make a dent... it would be simpler, easier and more cost effective to dispose of poor experiments.
No exactly creating the human clones for just meat it's a repeat process you have now a cow that'll purchase it's own meat and drink as well as be your puppet every modification you do and then the roadkill they scrape up at the end (strip for electronics and consciousness sell the meat and cyberware....) Repeat...
Your looking at this with the idea of the clone meat being the end product, you need to be looking at it as a by product, the clones are originally made for their organs, with the remains thrown away. Well at least that's what any ethical company would do, but what about a company looking for additional profit in any way, shape, or form. Just give it a thought.

I don't wanna get ahead of myself but something tells me like how Arasaka was the forefront for CP2077, Biotechnica 'may' end up being a subject of exploration in the announced sequel. What if the character you start out as in the sequel is a runaway synthetic husk with consciousness?
I definitely hope we get more focus on other corps, especially Biotechnica or some more underground corps that don't draw a lot of public attention. Arasaka has been used as a catalyst for a lot of major conflicts in Cyberpunk, so it'd be nice for it to switch around for a change.

This theory fails at a basic economy level.
Why increase your output of "food product" by a tiny fraction of a percentage point (which is what adding the clones to the SCOP would be tantamount to), when the risk of that info coming out would drop your sales and stock price by double digits overnight? And you'd have to spend at least an order of magnitude more money than you'd make in increased profits on media to bury the story and recover your stock price.
Not to mention the increased costs of security for this addition to the SCOP being kept secret in the first place.
The only way this would be done is if a high-up corpo had a fetish for feeding the poor to the poor. And that corpo would be then replaced by their bloodthirsty underlings over this faster than you can spit.
I'm all for corpo conspiracies, but at the end of the day, they need to increase the bottom line, not put it into serious peril.
Well, I have terrible history to tell, process food industry did had human flesh on their products in the past, it was in the beginning of the XX century, but they did, that was one of the reasons why the FDA was created to begin with, so it won't be a novelty, they already did with workers that lost limbs in the unsafe environment in the past, why not with disposable clones? There's no FDA or anything like that in the cyberpunk universe.

like using the human body for food would be such a huge waste of resorces to produce then cut up, yes using a lot of the human body for medical reasosn makes sense but once you have taken all that out there isnt much useable meat for food, what little there is left over would still make far far better use for medical perposes and be more profitable than wasting it as a foodstuff

My ideal scenario for the witcher 4 is a cyberpunk cross over hunting the werewolves in night city, I believe in the original concept for Cp2077 was that the werewolves played a bigger part, I think there is evidence of where the "underworld" was to be accessed all over night city in areas like where Kurt gets killed after the failed millitech heist that turned out to be knock off clothes.

I always just thought this was obvious to everyone, didnt realize it was technically not confirmed.
I mean you see dead people hanging right next to meatbags all the time its not really hidden even if it isnt blatantly stated in any codex. Besides the obvious soylent green comparison I know Bender in futurama calls humans meatbags and I believe in Fallout the supermutants do as well.
Seeing that cyberpunk has many similar traits to fallout it only makes sense there would be subtle nods.

Nah.... Idk. I dont think the game story was that good when compared to witcher 3, last of us, horizon zero dawn (just the first ones story). Gameplay was decent, the lore is there for them to use, but the story didnt pull me in like some games do.

Even better? Create new characters that became legends from across the city. I could imagine a story about a Night City Legend from HeyWood, its running theme could be quite similar to Narcos. Going against the Aldecaldos and have a few cameos in regards to the border to the outskirts.
OR basing a series off of the comic run about a trauma team agent you can look up, maybe even do one about Takemura’s origin.. The ideas are endless and the stories for some characters as well.

Love the vid. There's a lot of made-up kooky bs in real life obviously, but from a meta standpoint, most narratives don't just introduce completely erroneous concepts and then continue to drop little breadcrumbs about them to deliberately mislead players/readers. That wouldn't even really serve as a red herring and would just add some pointless confusion about the world. It's hard enough to get a coherent story across to a broad swath of general audiences without adding extra hurdles. They want the studious and meticulous player to find these clues and piece them together or else why waste time and energy on it? So to my mind that alone makes it all but certain to be true in at least some sense. They may not be saying conclusively "Yes there be werewolves" but it's kinda like asking someone if they did it and getting the reply "No comment" or "I plead the fifth", even if it's legally ironclad we all see red flags at such an obvious deflection. Sounds like you've mined pretty much all there is on the topic and it all checks out. Is it corny for people to make lab-grown werewolves? No more so than any other way life imitates art imitates life and so on and so it goes. Humans draw inspiration from the craziest things and make them reality. It's why we invented airplanes that look like big metal birds, it's why our first weapon was some kinda crude attempt at a claw or tooth... I guess we aren't that smart or creative... just very very observant.
