I like 2nd gen taco content because not everyone can get the latest trucks/things. I appreciate that you give solutions for those of us who would like to keep our old rigs. I've been watching a financial audit channel on yt and I'm shocked how much debt people are willing to go into just to purchase the most current vehicle. A vehicle that they made excuses for, but truly didn't need, and just wanted to keep up appearances.
Awesome reach back out to me once I get the 35s on. I have had a few people reach out with interest so once I make the switch I’ll put that opportunity out there for you guys.
Looking at a gen 2 2012 myself. Miles at 168k. Going for 16990. Waiting on the vehicle history to make a decision. Anything to look out for buying a taco that's got much mile on it?
@@nicholassolo7185 nice! biggest thing would probably be frame rust. I would get underneath it and really look the whole thing over. I bought this one at 133k, checked out the service history, took it for a test drive, tested at the 4x4, rear locked, hooked up an OBD device. Maybe even ask if you can take it to your mechanic the day after if you’re worried.
That’s a question I have asked my self a million times and just can’t seem to answer very well. But… I actually am making plans to purchase a second vehicle eventually. My goal is to try and keep the truck but still get another vehicle that would better suit me as a daily driver. It would still need to be somewhat capable off road for trips when my wife joins or when we are on a family road trip. I have been considering the 100 series Land Cruiser, later years 2nd Gen Tundra, 5th / 6th Gen 4Runner. I plan on doing a much more conservative build on the next platform and will still cover it on the channel but hope to keep the truck as the Overlander for the kids and I.

Yeah vehicles are getting so outrageously expensive too.
I have a Diono in my 2nd gen Tacoma too. Diono actually advertises keeping the child rear facing up to 50lbs
Congrats on your 3rd kid
Thanks!
Great video man! Enjoying the content. The video isn’t super applicable to me yet haha but love the videos so had to watch!
Thank you and thanks for watching anyways!
Did you make a video of how you installed the 12V panel and how you wired it?
I haven’t but I might do that when I do the new one
@@alpinetactics That would be awesome!
Good stuff! Time for a Tundra?
Not right not but maybe someday!

Sounds good bud. Just purchased my 3rd Tacoma and am literally trying to replicate this build for my white TRD.
@paddybarnes7776 that’s awesome man!
@@alpinetactics I think you will miss the stock wheels...

@@alpinetactics appreciate the feedback.
If you had to sell the truck what would you get next?
