Was a commissioned officer 40 years ago. Received my commission with honors as DMS/DMG, Scabbard and Blade Honor Society. Then I got sent to this crappy post in the middle of the desert where every field grade officer was there to retire. I hated that post. But I learned good lessons in working with people and what NOT TO DO. Finished my one and only tour and got out.
Congrats to every solider who served. It might be a great service for you, it may be a complete waste of time and thought you just tossed away 3 years of your life. But you will all learn something and brought you some life lessons that woukd help you later in life.

Absolutely true. In my day we didn't do DS at AIT but low and behold we arrived and this Platoon Sergeant gets on the bus angrier than the DS at Jackson 3 months earlier and starts screaming at us to get off and dump all our shit on the ground. "Ah shit, here we go again."

Congratulations to all the new soldiers that graduated and to all their drills & cadre that got them there!
Ericka, congratulations on 20K subscribers (well, 23.5 now)! Hitting 20K while your trainees were at/finishing the forge... there's certainly some symbolism there for working hard, not quitting (even when you might want to), believing in yourself, and of course success!
Things can only continue to go up from here!!!

I just discovered your channel the other day. I really enjoy watching your vids and seeing how the military has changed since I was in. I was active Army from 1990 to 1995. I spent 3 yrs in Germany and a year in Korea. I enjoyed it, but a 20 yr career was not for me. Technology made a huge jump after I got out. When I was in there was no internet, social media or smartphones. I am impressed by your accomplishments and will continue to watch your videos. Alot of what I have watched so far brings back soo many memories. Keep up the great work!

I see you and the other DSs lead by example and I see you lead by being right in the mix with the trainees. Your YT channel (and a couple other DS's too) offers an awesome insight into BCT that brings back a lot of memories for me and it really helps me feel in touch with what the trainees are doing at this time or soon. Thank you for the extra-duty effort! You look fabulous making it happen!

We had to ruckmarch 13 miles for the forge’s ruckmarch. We only had one heat cat at the 5th mile in while we waited 2 hours for the whole thing at midnight. After this I was tired asf and my dumbass ankles decide to trip 3 times. Once at the 7th mile 2nd in the 10 mile and 3rd at the eleventh the pain was unbearable but it was the last ruckmarch which just kept my ass going lmao. The drill SGTs told us that it would’ve been 10 miles but nooo our weak ass private legs had to do 13.
