- You heard it correctly! The newest addition to the HYDROS Universe, the Control XP8, is an energy bar and controller all in one. [CVtv] LIVE Workshop dedicates an entire episode to this one-of-a-kind device. Join hosts David D’Aquin and Carlos Chacon as they discuss the ins and outs of the Control XP8 - what it is, how it works within the HYDROS system, and where to buy it. They’ll even give you a sneak peek into how it’s made so you can see just how durable and carefully crafted these devices are.
Amazing work guys, I can’t wait to toss my Apex in the equipment graveyard! 😉
Thanks, David. You won't regret it.
Man this video was great its amazing the amount of work and thought process that went into producing these XP8. I truly wish i could buy one there hard to come by seems to be sold out ever where ! But honestly amazing work guys
Much appreciated!
Will there be more reporting options in regards to more details graphs with power monitoring and others such as ph and temp? Maybe even testing data?
Eventually, there will be more elaborate graphs. It is one of many things to look forward to.
Will there be a graph that shows energy usage over time?
Well I was on board til I found out you're in Chicago and sounds like Louisiana. Now as a Wisconsin resident and Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers fan I just can't have that in my house. Jk I love what you guys are bringing to the hobby and looking forward to getting a hydros system.
LOL. Thanks for the support. Go Bears!
So what if I have two 600w heaters running on a inkbird, can it handle 1200w of heaters in one outlet? Or what would be the best way to run my heaters on the hydros system?
It depends on the max draw of the heaters. Each relay can handle a max of 8amps.
Just wondering why you put mechanical relays instead of SSD in the unit?
Just wondering if you can run two xp8 in the collective I assume you can
Sure can. There is no limit to the amount of XP8s you can have in a collective.
Listened up to 47:00 and still doesn't describe exactly what it does to outlet!!!!
I am sorry but I am not entirely sure what your question is. The XP8 power manages the outlet which can be controlled (on/off) based on a schedule, mode, or tied to a particular Sense device. The XP8 can also power monitor each outlet separately so you could be notified if the device plugged into the outlet is outside its normal power draw. I hope this helps.
Each row of outlets should be oriented opposite of the other not the same
Not entirely sure why the outlets should be oriented opposite of each other as there appears to be no electrical reason for them to be oriented either the same or opposite. The only advantage of one or the other is when wall warts are plugged in.
If all wall warts were angled the same way then it would make sense to have the outlets opposite so the wall warts would always hang off the edge. However, since they come both ways then it actually makes more sense the way it is now mimicking a standard wall outlet. This allows the top row to accommodate some wall warts and the bottom row to accommodate others. Thanks for your understanding.
Far to long winded and still never got my answer...
What did you need answered?
@@CoralVueTV Sorry, got frustrated with forming a collective. Figured it out and all is 👍
@@CoralVueTV Actually, I do have a noob question. Is it normal for my Control x4 to have a single white led lit during normal operation?
@@brettgallagher2894 Yes, especially if you have your device LEDs set to turn off during the day. You can check in the options tab see here: cv.d.pr/i/okWJ7y
