Like you, I believe Wallen is a generational artist, however, the current generation is being led or controlled, if you will, by ppl with opinions or feelings; much of which is Godlessly messaged; and these haters of all things good, if you will allow, have more influence on things more than anytime since maybe the Woodrow Wilson administration, late 19 teens (make racism great again, must have been his slogan). And due to all of this, Wallen's musical influence on culture is being downplayed, subverted, ignored, and even censored by media and social influences in my opinion; evidenced for one by zero Grammy noms.
You inquired about the Sessions. Here is some clarity. With respect to the Dangerous album, there were two sets of Sessions. The first set of 7 came out around the time of the album release in January 2021; set in a barn somewhere; most think somewhere in or around Nashville. The second set came late Summer of the same year in an old auditorium; people claim in Knoxville. This was the first one to release onto RUclips from that second set, and came as a surprise to fans as there was nothing pre announced.
With respect to Sessions for the current album; this album too has had two iterations; five songs each time but with a twist. The first five were called One Thing At A Time; released around the time of the album release; I think that the setting was out west; maybe CA, but not sure. The second set came out three weeks ago; called Abbey Road Sessions; London, England; where the Beatles famously recorded some of their first really popular tracks. Unlike previous Sessions; Wallen released these all in very quick sucession; basically all 7 at the same time; also, unlike previous Sessions, it includes a teased version of a new, but unreleased song, Lies Lies Lies; and also a Rock cover song in addition to 5 Sessions versions of album cuts.
This song was chiefly written by a very young man at the time that had just been hired to write by Big Loud Records; Pendergrass I think. The label mgt asked Ernest to sit down with Pendergrass and others to write some songs. Pendergrass brought this one with a different area code. Ern said that Pendergrass had it all already written out, and I guess that's why Ern did not include himself as a writer on the track. Interestingly to me, Pendergrass (hoping I have his name right) later was a writer on Tennessee Numbers for One Thing At A Time album. He says that he and the other writers wondered if Wallen would once again change the area code to fit himself; they became excited when they heard the final product where he once again changed the area code to 865.
