besides the inhumanity of their endangerment being a surpise. The biggest surprise is that we haven't tried to domesticate them, when they are so unbelievably cute
they actually have extremely sharp claws so it wouldn't be good for us
DeX Clan I see your point, but cats also have razor sharp claws, and dogs have a mighty bite force, I think a domesticated red panda shouldn't be that much more problematic. for the record, I have never handled one, so I might be oblivious to their overall behaviour and how that would affect their appropriateness as pets
i think some people have done it before... idk, maybe a very few people.
table kun yeah, but that doesn't mean they were domesticated, domestication entails behavioural and minir genetic changes so the animal is more suited to symbiosis with humans, like the russian foxes
I've wanted a fox since i was a little kid..SO CUTE....and very intelligent.
Red pandas also carry out full-time jobs in Japan, and enjoy death metal, especially when stressed. They often befriend secretary birds, gorillas, fennec foxes, and even hyenas, the latter of which often end up being extremely close.
When they are older, red pandas are partial to learning the hidden artforms of kung fu, and are often seen with giant pandas; presumably, to teach them the skills they have learned, of which there are many.
Truly, a majestic creature.

Erectar Denara Their habitat is not in China and the poachers are the locals. Pandas are well protected the same for red pandas if they live there.
@@svl8389 Red Pandas are found in China too. And mostly their decrease in population there is because of poaching whereas in Himalayan areas their loss in population is primarily because of habitat loss.

They are so friendly animals. I used to go to zoo and feed them apples. They stand up, one paw on my shoulder, one paw with apple, just enjoy the fruit.

This was very interesting to see, how much the Red Panda differs from their distant cousin. It's so cute too, so it's nice that you made a video dedicated to learning more about them.
Have you heard of the Binturong? It's a bear species that resemble cats, which is why they're known as bear-cats.

Yay! I live in east Tennessee. There is a dig site and mini museum here in the City of Gray, it cost like $10.00 to get in. I actually visited the Gray Fossil site in east Tennessee and saw the giant Red Panda Fossil (or a replica ). I am so glad they didn't just bulldoze and put in the roadway they had planned. I am proud that our city workers actually realized there were important Fossils in the ground. I wonder how many city projects have ruined sites containing fossils and if our government could Require proper checks of building sites for historic significance. I always wanted to be a paleontologist as a child and it made me cry to see the dig team and lab. . . And yes my red panda Gray Fossil site shirt is my favorite shirt.

TY I wondered what sound they made. I saw Ravi at The Australia Zoo. The keeper shared a story about how Ravi tried to eat an Eastern Water Dragon. He chased it around for 20 minutes, only for the dragon to turn and bit him on the nose. Ravi ran up a tree in response. Their previous Red Panda on display was a better hunter and Ravi is considered to be more clumsy.
That last one looked like it was about to go on a rant.

Sure. China wants this and that, and as a raising power, and more and more wealthy Chinese have the power to get these rare animals. However, let's be fair. Americans have killed far more animals, we just don't talk about it. Just look at what happened in the North American continent. We nearly killed all the American buffalo (Bison). We did in fact killed all the gray wolves in US and had to later reintroduce wolves from Canada. I can go on and on, but you get the point.

It's not China itself, it's the poachers who live there. China (as the government) is actually trying to save the endangered species. So please don't blame the whole country when it's just a few people.
China as a country, not just as poachers are responsible for whaling, single handily endangering top predators from Africa, India, and the ocean (for their ‘powers’) while leaving the main parts of the animals to rot and young to die. With one hand the promise technological advancement, with the other they pollute their air and water. While you can go to any side or back street (or even a top restaurant) and buy ground up parts of dead endangered animals or have a bowl of shark fin soup!! Chinese people, however have an amazing heritage that involves living in harmony with the land they care for. One only needs to understand and look at the terraced rice fields to see that harmony in action.

We live in a himalaya , my ancestors use to hunt them. We have their fur hanged on our Bamboo made local kitchen. Back on 90s we easily spot them but it is hard to find new one nowdays. Right now we stopped hunting. Poachers still hunt them.
