I've watched this several times and I get chills and tears in my eyes every time Botts calls his name. Beyond Blue & Gold productions are the absolute best. That includes any sport, any media company. Simply the best.

This kid is special is all I have to say. As a Sabres fan this is a dream come true and what he is on ice as a defenseman is amazing. I’ve never seen a kid his age that would make a mistake on the ice and not panic, he recovers fast and just plays hockey. He has a plus 5 rating and he’s just getting started. We fans suffered through a lot and we still stayed loyal, but now the pieces are falling into place and we deserved this guy. Now the Sabres are a team to be proud of..

He should've won rookie of the year, 2nd most points in nhl history by an 18 yr old defenseman. Most game winners by one. First to ever play all 82 games. Probably more. He's a superstar and he will only get better, and buffalo better not screw him up

how's the level of hockey skills in the professional league back in Sweden or Europe ? comparable to the NHL or lower ?
sweden and switzerland have the best leagues ( except russia, but the khl doesnt count). There not that far behind the nhl as you might think. Of course, the best and most brilliant players from europe are in the nhl as well, but never underestimate those teams :)
yes Dante said it, we have good hockey here in Sweden but its not at the same level, larger rinks means more puck time for the players and not as fast as NHL.
when i played teamsports as a kid/young adult the coaches always said there is nothing wrong with passing the ball/puck to another player and i think thats why Swedish players are known as teamplayers not mutch ego.
i might be wrong but im happy little Sweden have/had so many great players.
Yeah it's true! so many awesome players from Sweden and Finland and yet those countries are so small compared to US. Canada as well... about 36 million people and almost all the best players are from there.

I trust Botts. Season crashed and burned, but you look back and he talks about scoring from defenseman. Miller is a great pickup for the PP, Dahlin in the draft obviously, trading for Montour who can produce points. He’s followed through on everything he’s said he’s going to do. At this point, goaltending, hopefully UPL comes up and does great things, and 2-3 line forwards. He’s getting there

....again the comment section proves why even as not a fan or executive that I'm _glad_ some of these commentators are not running any franchise in the world. You know that fellow Swede Lindstrom had some of his best years past thirty right? Athlete's that "usually" find success early in their careers get tempted & seccumb to those temptations by their pricetags and underperform; this can be said in all major sports in the open & modern era - no - I'm not saying athlete's shouldn't be underpaid...heck no...they work their asses off more than your coffee drinking gamer ass! I'm just saying that its much better to pay players not according to expectation or reality; pay them for what and how they perform... if you has a club give them a reason to perform primarily off the ice, then thee example should translate on it... we humans lose our drive when we focus on things that distract us from what got us their in the first place. Things like monetary gain, sex, alcohol, violence etc...look how the world outside sports are -- only a matter of time before it goes away...only to come back in a few million years and do it all over again.
I know its severely off topic... he's going to be just fine; only pick up some muscle; but that's just me.
