- House feels obligated to help his ex-lovers husband, Mark, despite still having feelings for her. Will House manage to put his feelings aside for his ex and crack the case?

"Honeymoon" (Season 1, 22): House diagnoses Mark (Currie Graham) , Stacy Warner's husband. Although the tests do not indicate a condition and Mark claims to be fine outside of stomach pain, it appears his brain is dying. House finds abdominal epilepsy, but cannot detect any memory loss. After Mark begins developing paralysis, House decides to treat him for Guillain-Barré syndrome. After confiding in Stacy that he still has feelings for her, House realizes that Mark had experienced delusions, and actually suffered from acute intermittent porphyria (AIP). With support from Stacy, but not from his team, House gives Mark a dangerous drug cocktail to confirm that he really has AIP. Cuddy decides to hire Stacy as the hospital's lawyer.

House cares about Stacey so much, that he can't bring himself to a super risky procedure he would do on anyone else without a second thought. That's how you know he loves her for real.
There's that. And there's also the fact that the last guy Stacy was married to underwent a super risky procedure that left him with a chronic pain disorder.

@@DemonicRobots Wasn't it basically a "heart" attack in his leg? Chances are he'd have died.
@@smurfyday It was a blood clot that embolized in his leg, but there was also a chance of full recovery and they didn't allow it. It was a gamble, but the importance was that it was his choice, not hers

I love how regardless of the emotions and situation, House gets up and slows Mark's decent to the table instead of letting him smash his head into it.
I think it perfectly demonstrates how House’s top priority is diagnosing patients. The sly insults were just the part of the show that he put on to get him knocked out.

He would say him hitting his head could have obfuscated the tests

Honestly seeing House dose Stacey’s husband just so he can treat him is one thing I couldn’t comprehend at first but now as I’ve gotten older I can see he wanted to save his life but he needed to do it in a way that would have been handled a bit better but sadly it wasn’t.

To be fair he did get fired, lost his license, was sent to jail and a mental asylum it just happens much later. Also I think the hospital has a specific amount of money set aside for the lawsuits due to House.

I've seen a bunch of clips, started watching on prime, is there a season I should skip to? I'm a little bored by the first season so far
Keep going, it gets better from season 2. You would'nt want to miss season 1
First season was kind of cheesy. It started to get good near the end. Second season is good. Third to sixth season the show was on his peak and i'm season 4 the show became more character-driven. Seventh season got meh but is still good. And eighth season is a mixed bag of awful and really good. If you are getting bored, I could recomend you to watch Season 1 episode 21 "Three Stories" and keep going from that point.
