So nice to hear....about your son getting married. Dating for old people - like me (59) - is hell.

I'm 43 I think when you get older more people are emotionally damaged which makes it harder to find someone genuine

I gave up dating at 35, now I'm 60 and got some serious health issues. With that going on, I don't think I would have the energy to commit to a relationship. I have grown used to being alone and lonely, but it's peaceful and less stress. I have enough of that with my health issues. What I see out there with the available pool of women available as an older man looking is concerning, especially if one is a christian man.

I'm 46 .. what seems to be out in the dating arena does seem scary. But I still believe there is someone for everyone. Just a matter of finding them somehow

Dating was so much easier when I was in high school/college. It is way more difficult to find a godly man when you are older as many are already married or are ungodly. Praying daily not to rush into relationships and trusting God that it's never too late to start over.

Faith is truly the only armor against the enemy. I keep faith. As a single mom things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them especially now that I’m homeschooling them because my hours to work are limited. I suffered an heart attack two years ago and I’m battling lupus my health isn’t the best. Yet God gives me strength. I will keep faith as I constantly struggle to pay bills and I constantly struggle to buy groceries for my children. The devil wants me to give up. But I know God Gives His Hardest Battles To His Strongest Soldiers. Jesus is King and I will serve him no matter my struggles.

Some are called to being single. At times I think many believers, especially Christian woman will manipulate a man into marriage through guilt.

Fake Christian women will lure men and use men. Men don’t fall for the marriage trap!

I have one question and one comment. Question: How do you meet a christian to marry if you're older? You're not in youth group, few churches have singles groups, if they do, the group ends when the leader gets married, plus the church frowns on dating. They tell you that the church is not a dating site. I joined Christian Mingle and all I met were scammers. Comment: The church needs to have classes about sex for married people. I've been in conversations online with married christian men who have complained to me that they are having problems in the bedroom because their wives are timid about sex. (I've always shut down the conversation by telling them that this conversation is inappropriate and offer to refer them to a married male pastor.) But the church needs to address this problem. It leads to other marital problems.

I've been in church since I was 14 years old. I've seen many people dating, marrying and getting divorced. I was part of a single's group with more than 300 divorced Christians and heard many stories. Pastors don't really know much about it. The worst part is that they think they know. Many pastors' marriage is just acting. Many are unhappy with their marriage. I was on a church where the pastor would manipulate who should date who. First, we should study the Psychology of love. Why people like certain people and no other. Do money matters? How dating starts? Pastors try to make something emotional become a rational thing. Research showed that many people invent the other person. They see what they want to see if they want to see. Good looking people is perceived as having good qualities. Love starts with an illusion. You don't know the person; you start dating an illusion you created in your mind. That is the reason for so many divorces, the illusion don't match reality. No one will ever follow any "guide". Even the Bible always mentions good looking people. In one page the Bible mentions that God looks at the heart, the next page says that David was good looking.

Absolutely. Marriage is high risk for males. And women are worse than men today sleeping around and monkey branching looking for the 6ft. Men that are millionaires. The unicorns. Mark always bad mouths men but women are worse in their lifestyle choices than men.

Should take a class before having children as well. If you never have been a parent.

Actually Christians have the highest rate for divorce. Also no fault divorce threatens marriage too so it’s a dying industry no douth about it like religion faded away unless it’s fixed soon it’s doomed

Married people can be the loneliest people also. marriage is not the answer to everything. Women are not traditional any more. They marry then divorce men and use the courts which favor them to fleece men.

    • @sitka49
      @sitka49 6 месяцев назад

No fault divorce isn't the issue, ( It's kind of like saying parachute's cause plane crashes) back in the late 60's there were so many divorce cases coming into the court system nationwide they were becoming backlogged. So Ronald Reagan when he was governor signed in a bill of no fault divorce into California law to streamline the system and the rest of the states soon after followed suit. If you really want to have a major drop in marriages ( people on the fence are really going to think twice about it) by get rid of no fault divorce. you might have drop in the divorce rate but you'll cut marriages in half ( couple's will just live together) of what they are now. Last yr the US had 2.2 million marriages, 30 yrs ago it somewhere around 7 to 8 million and they project by 2025 it will be 1.5 or so.

@@sitka49 maybe their should be like reviews where kids are grown up now and they get to split if they like without any serious penalties on both sides and then live rest of their days with someone to retire life with. And then the marriages that don’t have kids pay higher taxes if it’s by choice kinda thing. Like they gonna have to do something to keep the family unit Together. Stop rewarding divorcees for a start if it’s just cause they are not happy and nothing else and want to screw the other over

    • @sitka49

@@edmondopowell I would agree. Divorces back in the 50's 60"s heavily favored to husbands. Then trying to reconcile inequity ( wave feminism) it's gone too far the other way. All a wife has to is say now, that she "doesn't feel safe" with him in the home, and the husband automatically kicked out . Then she can call a lawyer the next day and have a restraining order on the him ( husband) and he can't see his kids until after possibly the divorce settlement - and then who knows? ( Some wives aren't so vindictive, but still.)
There's a growing trend that there is no gain for men to get married, especially making good money, with a good established career path. And then get married then the wife in 5 to 6 years divorces him, and takes 50% to 70% the stuff and (him) to pay child support ,and still not be able to see his kids ( maybe every other weekend?). ( The phase: The squeeze isn't worth the juice.)
70% to 80% of divorces are initiated by the wife. the average marriage lasts 8 yrs.
