Autumn cold is coming quickly again this year. Yesterday 23°C, today colder but from Saturday on Night frost and cold. So I have till Friday afternoon to bring ALL orchids indoors that aren't cold tolerant. Although this time of year brings lovely colors out, I love it warmer. Make sure you bring in your orchids, even the cold growers as they can't take being wet and cold. cold and dry is not that much of a problem.
I had intended to bring my Dendrobiums inside tomorrow, but after reading your comment I immediately went outside to bring them into the garage. Autumn, with its many colours, can be spectacular. Yes, hurry and gather your warm growers, they'll appreciate being cosy inside. Thanks Marc 👍
I'm getting the Cymbidiums in today and I'm currently waiting on a box from Santa (the one from Belgium 🤣 All my potted bulbs need to come out and stored for spring and the lotus needs to come in but I have no idea where to put that big tub for a whole winter (probably my work area)
It's a problem when it comes to storing garden stuff for the winter. The big ginger lily will come into the garage, but everything in the ponds stay put. I'm teetering on whether to bring my Kingianum types and other Dendrobiums inside. Some areas (not us) predicted to get snow!
@@orchidsgardeninengland1682 We are a long way from snow but next week everything goes well below 10 at night. I thought you were pushing it with those Dendrobiums 😁Lotus has to come in because it's very delicate, can't take frost (it's in a 65 liter tub)

@YnseSchaap good luck with that weight. You'll need help otherwise you'll end up with a bad back.

Oh, I had meant to ask if your hazel actually produces hazelnuts? Or is just an ornamental variety?
It produces hazelnuts and the squirrels love them!
