Thanks Crystal, I tried my first cut and learned something. I was going to make several glasses so I decided to put all the initials I was going to use on the Silhouette and cut them out all at once. This was practical and worked well. What I learned was after cutting them out before weeding I should have cut each Initial with backing out individually. I didn't do this and when weeding the vinyl would stick to other sections and I had a huge mess. Took for ever to get them all weeded out. Now I cut on silhouette as a group but then I cut by hand out individually before weeding - works much better.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the tutorial on how to use glitter without wasting it and getting it all over everything! I know that is not the complete video but this is by far the BEST personalized object with glitter, I've seen.
Thank you so much for this video. I have bought the glasses but haven't had the courage to try it yet. With your video I think I have got this now. Again Thank you so much!!
This was a great video!!! So happy you were straight to the point! Learned what I was doing wrong. I don't let mine dry as long and I didn't double the coats on anything! Also, OUTDOOR VINYL!!!!! I was like DUH Kaila!!! Great video I am going to subscribe!!!! Muah!
This was the best tutorial I have every seen. Detail easy to follow instructions, great speed and an awesome product in the end!! Thanks for sharing, I'll be trying this!!!
Hi, love what you've made! can you please advise me, on how to seal and finish a painted glass vase, once the paint is dry. I'll be using acrylics and floetrol. Thankyou
You have done a terrific tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing your techniques! Very kind of you to tell us exactly how to do it :) Thanks! I will have to make some for Christmas Gifts :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I haven't worked with vinyl yet, but I have been looking at all the posts of these wine glasses. I have my Cameo since January and I have been doing paper crafting on it, but I do intend to do vinyl also.
Thank you thank you! Yous i the first video I found that answered all my questions and you even showed how to transfer vinyl which I was confused about! :)
crystal shipley Thanks I have been looking for a video on how to seal glitter. I will try that triple thick stuff! I am guessing I find this at Michaels? I Cant remember if you said it on the video.
Very well done. First tutorial i have ever seen that explains everything. I would like to know what kind of machine did you use to make those letter and material. thank you
That was amazing. Thank you for this tutorial. It is straight forward and definitely time consuming but fun. Thanks again. I'm going to be brave and give it a shot for my wedding :)
+Carole Bebbington-Clarke i live in the uk and i get mine fee from sign factories they have so much they throw away they are happy to give it to you you do get a range of colours but not always the one you want but so far i have never brought any but you are right the UK is very poor at craft outlets but do look in your area for sign factories and contact them good luck
Hi Crystal, Have you ever used the mod podge over a stencil you made on the cricut and then glittered that? wondered if it would stay as well as vinyl, and if you would suggest leaving the stencil on while it dries and you put more layers on.
Hello Crystal . I too think you did a Great job all the way around . My question is i have a Cricut and i have a font cartridge not so sure if i have what you used but i read through a lot of the q&a but i didn't see if i could down load font using the cricut ? if so do you know how . again thank you for your time to show us your craft I wish you the Best of luck on your etsy business .
I don't have a machine, and not very crafty. Would love to make these for friends. Do craft stores have letters, and names that can be used on glass surfaces such as these wine glasses?
I saw another video that I thought I liked but I really enjoyed this one. I just couldn’t catch the fonts that you use for both! You mentioned outdoor vinyl is that Oracal 651 or any vinyl from Cricut or whomever is fine? Thank you!
Hi love the glasses ! I've been trying to use white printable vinyl but is not looking like yours. Can you use outdoor vinyl to print on using a home printer ?
Crystal luv your videos on making those wine glasses. Your video was recommended by Rebecca Landry. I am a visual learner and this video and the one showing how to vinyl initials and names are great!!
Very nice!!! Loved it. What was your blade speed and force speed? I’m having a hard time trying to weed. I would like it to come right off like yours did. I’m using the cameo 3 and 651 vinyl
first of all an excellent presentation I am having a few problems which I thought you may be able to help me with, !st when I apply my vinyl using an application tape, the vinyl will not come off the application tape no matter how much I tried to go over it again and again, I have changed from an application tape to a low tac spray paint masking vinyl, and although I am having a slightly better success, the vinyl is not sticking as good as yours, I have quite easily pulled off the vinyl on the glass, so even when I get the Vinyl on the glass it is not permanent, What am I doing wrong? and what type of application tape are you using for the vinyl to stick to the glass, I am using outdoor sign vinyl, hope you can help me
David Storey Hi David I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. Here is what I use for the vinyl it's outdoor oracal 651 it says that on the back. Then for the transfer paper I use contact paper that you can buy at the dollar store. I hope that helps and wish you the best of luck. This may sound like a stupid question, but do you clean your glasses with rubbing alcohol before you apply your vinyl.
Hi Crystal, I'm doing glasses for my wedding party. I have everything else except the letters and the paper to put them on the glasses. Please help need to know what type of paper I need to use. Was that fine glitter that you use on the glasses?
For the vinyl portion of the transfer to the glasses the clear sticky tape used over the wine glasses, what is it called, and can I get these things at hobby lobby I do not have a siloette machine..... HELP PLEASE!!!! I have a wedding next month to decorate bridesmaids and groomsmen mugs for..... Love your tutorials.
Victoria Caraway It's called transfer tape o and yes Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnns etc. all carry it. She uses contact paper - which you can get at the dollar stores (clear). You can always cut the initials by hand - just take a little more work and patience.
This is a great video very detailed and you explained everything pretty well. However you lost me when it came to the cutting of the vinyl for the letter. What so we need to cut the vinyl and is there somewhere that could do that for me like Kinkos or somewhere. Also I do think I heard where you bought the vinyl from. I'm going to make these for a bachelorette party favor.. Thanks so much
Great video Crystal! Have you ever used the Dishwasher Mod Podge, as opposed to the Triple Thick? Also, where can I get Triple Thick? Have you ever painted over the vinyl? I'd like to make some Xmas ornaments and thought I'd like to make my design more "dimensional".
I am waiting on my Circut explore air to arrive any day now so I am a true beginner. First where do you get transfer paper. Can you use transfer paper on any vinyl? 2: where do you buy the triple tec? I think that's what you called it. The stuff you use to seal the glitter as the final step ?
Thanks for sharing-this is wonderful-looking forward to making these glasses. Would you please list the two fonts you use? I couldn’t quite catch what you said. Thanks
do you find that contact paper works just as well as transfer tape? I definitely know there is a price difference between the two....plus I like that contact paper has a more clear view to help with the placement of the design too...
I've just developed a love for crafting and love your videos. Where do you buy the vinyl for the wine glasses at? Thank you for your creativity and sharing them for the world to see.
Beautiful classy glasses. One question, you said you use contact paper to transfer your letters. So you put the sticky side on top of the letters and then you place this on the glass, pull off the contact paper. Does it ever pull you letter back off? Great video..Thanks
What kind of vinyl did you say you used? I have alot of trouble doing small thin lines like that. Mine does not stick to the glass that easy i scrape scrape scrape and it wont stick.
Great Tutorial!! I was hoping you can tell me the size like length and width of the names of the cut vinyl and also the size you make the monogram initial? Please and Thank you
You are so talented. Will definitely try to make some here in Kenya.thanks for the nice tutorial. One question though, how do you call the last part of sticking the words to the glass,or Rather how are those called?how are they printed?are they hand made or something?...
I am new to my Cricut Explore Air 2. This video is SO helpful! Thank you so much! Can you do this (the glittering) with the ModPodge on an acrylic tumbler, instead of getting into the whole epoxy procedure?

Your tutorial really enlightened me on how to do the glitter on glasses. So much easier than the tedious method I was using.
Thanks Crystal, I tried my first cut and learned something. I was going to make several glasses so I decided to put all the initials I was going to use on the Silhouette and cut them out all at once. Penny Swaney If it does pull the letter back off, lay it back down and reburnish until it sticks.
Penny Swaney it actually is very hard to pull vinyl back off. once it sticks it is kind of hard to take it off
What kind of vinyl did you say you used? I have alot of trouble doing small thin lines like that. Mine does not stick to the glass that easy i scrape scrape scrape and it wont stick.
Enjoyed the tutorial. I do want to know if you can apply heat from heat gun to dry every thing a bit faster.
