First mode was “EV only”, no ICE.

    Hi
If the battery is flat , zero 0
    The 262hp become 180hp?
i mean if the battery is dead then there's no electric motor to produce the extra hp , or this is not true , some people say that it will always produce 262 no matter what.
I cannot find any answer on this.
The only thing I found is the driving mode power that gives you the full power ?
So the question is does the T5 plugin produce ALWAYS 262hp?

The answer is no, battery is 10.8 kwh brutto but you can only use 8.5 kwh, when you can no longer drive electric mode only the car start working like an hybrid, battery will assit the engine, battery should never be 0%

@@juangarcia9617 so theoretically on a flat autobahn stretch it will never have the nominal IC engine's power as it has to charge/conserve the battery as well.. if you cycle the load (which is closer to real life) eg mixed uphill, downhill, or accelerate, decelerate then it is a way better situation .. it will always have some juice in battery to pull, but it is definitely not a constant high speed cruiser like a diesel car.. this limiter is the first step to global speed limiting to save resources... mark my word it will come in many more cars in 3-5 yrs..

On a flat autobahn you do not need full power :), so yes. Plug in cars uses about 90% of battery to run on pure electric mode. The 10% is used to run as an hybride (recharged by the braking etc) to assist the engine and should never run out having teoretically full power most times (99%), same as a toyota hybrid never run out of juice. (Only happened once to me with a prius 2005 in the montains going uphill 130km/h almost at the top battery was depletted car lost bit of speed for a minute (to 110km/h) than it recharged full when driving downhill.

@@juangarcia9617 so if it conserves the 10%, then you will always have 1min 05sec reserve at full power. It is not meant to chase diesel cars anyways..:).

@@laszlovona 😊, it does not work like that, that would mean all hybride cars only have full power for a min. Top speed is limited to 180km/h the engine alone is more than enough

this is for economy made and for 1.5l. engine is prety fast ,if you want fast take 2.0 T8 - no one mercedes ,at the moment, is faster that volvo t8 in 2.0 ccm engine category.benz is only fast whit 6 or 8 cylinders, his has to be at least 2cylinders bigeer engine to compare whit volvo or alfa romeo:ruclips.net/video/WjUjwgLTB_w/видео.html
