Thanks so much to Tom for bringing me around south Tipperary and showing me Glenagat House. This house was the venue for the wedding of Dan Breen and Brigid Malone during the Irish War of Independence.

Great work lads. I had to move from my home in 1989 to Australia (where l've been ever since) Married into a beautiful Australian family. My niece was staying with us for a while (she was 18) and she asked me "uncle G, why do you have so many books on terrorism?" So lasked her "do you know what is going on in Gaza? " She gave me the correct answer. I told her that for around 800 years Ireland was like Gaza and the West Bank, but the murdering monsters were not the Israelis but were the English. She didn't know what to make of that. So l gave her a copy of 1916 by Morgan llywelyn to read. I explained that the book was considered historical fiction, but all the chief characters and story really happened. She devoured that book and asked if she could borrow the other books by Ms. Llywelyn. I sent her home with 3 or 4 books. But made her promise that if she had any questions she could just call me. She messaged me just the other day to tell me she was finished reading the books, l asked her what she thought. She said the books made her sad and angry, and asked me if l saw any of the things brought up in the books. I was honest with her. She told me she loved me to the moon and back. We can't let a single generation go by without the knowledge of what happened in lreland. To quote Bobby Sands " our victory will be found in the laughter of our children ". I hope you keep up the good work lads.

As a 3rd gen Irish American... Please continue to share. I'm 40, grew up step dancing in my local AOH and NEVER Heard any stories until I started doing my own genealogy and asking questions. Between the mother and baby homes, the history of the finians... I'm fact, I've heard stories since that there were a few more recently immigrated members that would mouth off with particular spirits😜 but I don't ever remember hearing anything.
My people were from Castle John and fled to the States in late 1890s and early 1900... That line at least...

The more I understand our past history the more I understand the dreadful plight of the Palestinian people .I can trace my Irish family roots as far back as the 1600s and even further back to the tine of Cromwell in a small pocket here on the Meath-Westmeath border. How the hell did we ever manage to survive and now we have our ''own'' so called ''government'' to contend with.

I enjoy your channel but Ireland's past struggles for independence are all for naught as today only 75% of it's residents claim Irish ancestry and the most popular name of newborn males in Galway is Mohammed. Seems to me all Ireland has is a past because there is no real Irish future

The house and site should be preserved and restored for history and future generations of Irish people and historians to come and visit and maybe a visitor's centre to display the Counties great Republican culture and history. Great video Davy. Go raibh maith agat 🍀💚🇮🇪✊

I'm from County Derry, and we pretty much get no Irish history. I got most of my information from my parents and their families. I learnt my great Granda Logue was an IRA man from way way back. I also learnt my Granny Lynch had family members who were falsely accused of thing's, (the Guilford four and the Maguire seven). I also obviously learnt of "Bloody Sunday" and the bombings in Ballykelly (where my mammy's family are), the rising sun shooting, the REAL story to the so called "Battle of the Boyne" and MUCH MUCH more. One thing that REALLY annoys me about how we're not taught of our Irish history is that the Protestants here know absolutely didly squat of the truth of what happened. Yeah it's probably the rebel side of me or something, but I believe if all people who should know it's those that actually support the British murdering scum of the earth!! Sorry I'm going major rebel now!! Lol but I hate anything to do with those folk, maybe they're decent now?? I don't know nor do I care but for what they done to our country and our ancestors will never pass my forgiveness, maybe if the Protestants were taught the truth and they came clean, then I might throw in some forgiveness, but the chances of that is beyond slim.
