The 4k at 120 fps is a lower internal resolution with upscaling. The actual resolution is somewhere between 1440 and 4k. The pro still won’t be 4k native at 120, but they patented a new improved AI upscaler so they can add full ray tracing without losing performance and the upscaled 4k being higher quality. This was according to Digital Foundry.

For instance the most heavily cpu based solid native 4k60 game I've played is Wreckfest. If the base is capable of generating such a heavy physics based game like that at 4k60 then the unified memory pool design is capable of stabe high fps heavy physic based games and all that is lacking is the GPU performance. Ps5 pro should in theory make native 4k60 Quality stting games more common and upscaled heavy demand games capable of 4k 120cb in performance mode. PSSR from my perspective will smooth frametimes and give a consistent base for locked fps.
The problem is that developers have the ability to run/push their games to 4k 120 on console (with up scaling of course) but most decide not to do so. Even if the ps5 pro comes out I don’t believe all developers if not only a few will take full advantage of the ps5 pro power and capabilities.
I'm sick and tired of these stupid mid life cycles for no reason other than a cash grab from these companies. There is not a significant upgrade for tech in such a short period of time since the ps5 release, all it does is just create dichotomy for users loading time. That is all. Secondly, makes it more difficult for developers they can't a make a game to it's full potential and have to compromise for all users in the middle ground.
I love my PS5 slim, got it for $400 brand new and sealed. So, even if they actually drop the Pro this year, I'm gonna wait until next year to buy it from FB Market Place with a cheaper price again!
A pal at PS says they've heard it could be as high as $900 for the Pro. Seems high but I could see it at a higher than $600 price point. The launch PS3 that was backwards compatible with PS2 games was $600 when it launched, if you remember, and components cost more now than they did back in '06. Hopefully we'll get our first look along with details during Summer Games Fest now that thats been officially been given dates in June.

All the games that have 120fps modes aren't native 4k either its 1080p or 1440p and even dynamic resolution. Hell not even RTX 4080s can get 4k 120fps on demanding games.

If its not 8k then will be totally pointless. The only reason the PS4 pro came out is, when the PS4 came out, 8k was starting to be a talked about new TV standard and a push for 4k, at the time 1080p was standard out half way through the PS4 life cycle 4k was becoming the normal, so the pro was made to capture the 4k market. So unless the pro can cater for 8k, its pointless and games wont look a whole lot better over the PS5, 8k tvs are not taking off as quick as 4k did, not yet anyway, so for a pro version its to soon
I still have my ps4 pro. I got an xbox Series S when it came out while the PS5 was tough to get. Have been fine the last few years til now. I'm getting the itch to buy a ps5 slim digital or wait for the ps5 pro. I primarily play sports and racing games. Most of the sports games are capable of 4k 60 on the ps5 which I'm good with. The racing games fps is probably a little more important though. I don't know what to do lol..???

The GPU in PS5pro will probably be equivalent to RX7800XT at best if PS5 pro finally happen later this year. The RX7800XT is not the native 4K with RT 60FPS card, which is just 30FPS to 50FPS native 4K high settings card for demanding 3A titles!

There’s not going to be a lot of physical hardware changes/improvements to a ps5 pro model. Like you mentioned, it’s mostly going to be increased cpu/gpu performance (clock speeds) and improved ram performance. The only thing that I can see that would drive the cost up to $600 would be increased base storage. I’m thinking they’ll keep the pro at $500 and drop the price of the slim.

What’s going to happen is that games will be able to run natively or upscaled at higher resolutions and framerates just like they did on PS4 Pro/PS4. Just like last generation the hardware will stay the same. Microsoft made the mistake of requiring feature parity across the Series X and S when they aren’t the same hardware specs.
The games have to match the specs of the console. If developers don't want to push their games to the max to fit these consoles, you're better off keeping your regular PS5. If they do, the cost will definitely go up. That's one issue. The other thing is where do they go from here? These consoles are going to start costing $1,000+ the more they keep adding. I wonder what the sales would look like then. Cloud gaming might just be the future. A gaming monitor with integrated cloud gaming, all you need is a controller and wifi. That seems more like the future.
Great video. I had my Elite headphones disconnect for the first time after getting them on launch and I totally think it was due to heat. Had it plugged into the back and had been watching movies previously to gaming. The console was heating up and so was my small room.
I just bought a Slim. If possible, I'll maybe trade in for a Pro. If not, I'll rock with the PS5 Slim until the PS6 comes out. I survived without getting a PS4 Pro, I can do the same with the 5.

Nothing has been confirmed about PS5 pro, if you want a PS5 just buy an original version or the slim. It is aslo important to buy a 4k HDR TV or monitor that supports VRR and auto low latency mode.

Top end PCs cannot hit 4k @120hz… not sure how you get that with a $600 box…

The dongle in the back IS the reason for that. The heat will cause interference. Plug it in the front and watch all of your problems disappear.
