I was really hoping for a 60 mph Spark like everybody else. I guess we are just going to have to keep ripping these Gsxl's around until Seadoo comes correct!
I know right! So annoying, its frustrates the hell out of me the dealers and Seadoo always say 'that's not what the spark was designed to do' as you say GSXL and XP 951s to the rescue (again!)
Spark X is 100% coming, it would be foolish for them to roll it out in the first year of the refresh when it would steal sales from the Trixx. But they didn't redesign the seat and engine access for nothing, the engine compartment is 8 inches wider than the old spark and now has side access. The only reason to spend that development money is if they planned to use the space. I would bet my bottom dollar in the next year or two we will see a spark X with the RXP-X steering damper and the 1630, probably in 130 hp guise (but the only difference from the 170 is a tune anyways). Also Seadoo have admitted that they have put the 300 supercharged ace in a development mule and the hull held up but they told the watercraft journal that it was a lunatic machine and there is no way they could sell it to the public as doing so would be basically begging for a regulatory crack down.
Agree will all of the above... I have made a dedicated video on why I'm convinced the spark X is coming, what I think will be called the 'Spark XP'. Have a watch ruclips.net/video/2aicrPIm014/видео.html&ab_channel=ClassicJetskis Very good point about sales in first year, not wanting to be taken away from the new top deck design, you're right in the sense for your more passive casual PWC owner, whose looking at upgrading or buying their first spark...the top deck new features is a reason in itself to buy....then for your more aggressive riders, the fast spark will come later.... Reading your comment I do think your on to something as in... maybe the Spark will become 3 tiers... tier one is the basic non trixx model, then you have the trixx and then when they bring out the fast one, they call it the Spark XP, but doesn't have the extended VTS but other speed/handling mods as you referenced... that way the spark will have 3 versions essentially... It could happen. The biggest spanner for all of this is, Seadoo not wanting to take sales from their 27k beast RXP 323 machine... it annoys the hell out of me that, that segment of the rider community, that's riding RXP 300/325 machines, they look at the spark riders and think we ride sparks because they are cheap... but they've missed the point... we ride sparks because they are the most playful/the most lightweight and above all, with the right power, would eat the RXP up.... the RXP is a great ski at a specific job, but isn't a very playful fun ski, like a spark or XP/GSX....
completely agree with you, I kind of feel like they maybe missed a trick on this one (slight pun intended ) but I think they are going more for the mass market appeal, shame as the spark would be brilliant with the 1630 and with the addition of all the new tweaks it would be a brilliant ski to own, and rapid, fingers crossed I am wrong and next month they bring out a spark X 😃
Such a shame isn't it! I have to say if we are being objective, Seadoo defo made nice top deck functional improvements, but its whats under the hood that counts, even if the 1630 was too big and too heavy.... why not a turbo, there is space for it... a turbo would get that ski to 65mph easy... that's what my money is now on...2025 or 2026 will see a newer faster model I think, if not that, electric like I say! Either way its a bummer and the GSXL and XPs to the rescue again! thanks for watching dude 🙌
I think engine upgrades may wait for a few years from now. They won't release everything at once, they'll save some of their improvements for future years. Hopefully, a turbo, or larger engine later on
Yeh I must admit having seen what turbo kits are out there already on the old gen spark, which are fairly easy bolt on parts coupled with a remap... I could see how Seadoo could do it, its just whether that engine would need a overhaul to consistently deal with the additional stress, as although you can fit a turbo to your current 1st gen spark, the life expectancy of that 900cc ace engine, goes down pretty fast... tricky one, I so badly want a faster spark but is it going to ever happen, who knows! @@classicjetskis Rotax already makes a turbo 900ace for ski-doo, so I think most people think they should just put that engine into a spark as an option. I’m not sure if there are other reasons why they won’t do this, maybe it’s just too expensive and the price increase between the turbo and non-turbo would just be too much?

Honda tried making turbo skis years ago and they always ran into issues. Honda aquatrax 12f

I think you need a round nose superjet or kawasaki X2. It would change your life.
