What legend? You mean Whitney Houston the original legend who was NOT truly appreciated by the music industry. The one and only true legend was and is Whitney Houston.
In every single speech last night she went on about how the fans are the reason she's employed 😭😭😭 Which is true, you know, but it makes me wonder what she was thinking to bring it up so often, looks like she was feeling some typa way
Now there should be a tour of her display of all her awards!!! I'm sure there's a lot to unpack. Vogue please do a 73 questions with Taylor swift about it.
This world so precious for her ,she dont have any sugar daddy ,she is ambitious, authentic ,passionate, she is awesome I love her so much I love you taylor 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I hear she's also a pretty good musician. If anybody ever had it all, she's certainly at the top of the list. Intelligence + Creative Talent + Desire to be great + Good Genes + Natural Instinct Toward Healthy Behavior = Taylor Swift If you remove just ONE of those traits, the chances of success drop exponentially. But if someone possesses all 5 traits their odds are quite good for achieving greatness.
She definitely has some great qualities, but she has some unsavory ones too. I’m pretty disillusioned by some of her behavior. At the risk of coming across looking like a keyboard warrior, here I go. I There was a situation where she took to Twitter to say that a Netflix show, Ginny and Georgia, had made a sexist joke at her expense (re her going through lots of boyfriends). It's fine that she wanted to stand up for herself in that way, but when Swifties began attacking the actress who delivered the line with racist slurs and LITERAL THREATS OF DEATH in response to Taylor’s tweet, it’s outrageous that she didn’t say something. This was a big news headline. Taylor was “feminist” enough to defend her own name (in the name of her very self-serving brand of feminism) but disappeared when attacks turned ugly and racist. That's not real feminism. I can't be convinced she and her team didn't know about this. It was a big news story and it took place as a direct result of her tweet defending herself. She has a long history of this type of self-serving and politically tone-deaf behavior, including when her team threatened a blogger with legal action (serving a cease-and-desist) for arguing that Taylor should denounce the white supremacist fans who called her their Aryan Goddess and insisted that she shared their beliefs. She literally could have sent that cease-and-desist to the Alt-Right groups making those claims in the first place. It’s disturbing that the person she chose to threaten w legal action was the one saying she should denounce the LITERAL HATE GROUP rather than the people OF that hate group claiming she shared their beliefs.
@@mdrowe726 I think all of this we can sum up as she's talking only about her or her experince. It's horrible that some fans sent death threats to her but I'm sure it wasn't a big part of the fandom. This is a horrific behaviour but sadly there is a part of every group of people who behave poorly. And it's not up to Taylor to lecture them. It probably wouldn't help anyway. Same with some random people making her something she's not. She had nothing to do with it. Obviously. She didn't say a word to support it in any way. If she spoke out about every accusation she wouldn't do anything else and it feels like she doesn't want to pick which ones are enough to speak about and which aren't. Also there would probably be more of them if she responded to some because people would want the attention. I'm not sure this makes any sense I'm in a hurry and my thoughts get all over the place. I just want to say that even tho I get your point of view I also get what could her reasons be for what she does.
@@jankova0013i disagree that she had nothing to do with the white supremacy thing. Silence in the face of oppression = violence. I’m not saying she was out in the streets waving the Confederate flag, but she deliberately didn’t speak out so as not to offend her white supremacist fans and that’s a problem. Essentially she was putting money as a priority before civil rights, human welfare and positive social change. While also claiming to be a feminist and an ally. And she’s not tight on money at all, to say the least. So that’s just greed. Whether or not you characterize that as evil, plenty of people do. This is why so many people can no longer support her. Yes, there are the many flimsy criticisms of her, and people have been hurling these at her for years. Examples include “Taylor Swift writes too many breakup songs” or “T Swift has a fake surprised face during awards shows”. I’m never here for those flimsy criticisms. They mean nothing. But there are plenty of substantive criticisms, and these are the ones I’m talking about. Interestingly, she only ever addresses the flimsy criticisms, never the substantive ones. It feels to me like it might be strategic on her part. By “clapping back” at the flimsy criticisms, she garners our applause and respect and draws attention away from the substantive criticisms. She even gets positioned bizarrely as a feminist icon, despite her feminism being extremely problematic. Meanwhile, by neglecting the substantive criticisms, she makes us forget that those criticisms even exist. White supremacy is such a horrific thing that if you don’t actively distance yourself from it and behave in anti-racist ways, it is not unreasonable for people to assume that you are a part of it. Again, silence in the face of oppression means taking the side of the oppressor. Allowing for too much gray area on this is how racism is able to proliferate. Being anti-racist is a civic duty we should all take seriously. I respect that you want to give her the benefit of the doubt but I’m past that point. She tried to silence the person who said she should denounce white supremacy, rather than the white supremacists who claimed she shared their beliefs. That makes no sense to me. Or rather it makes sense only in the context of her not caring about the victims of white supremacy. This was also an infringement of first amendment rights. Silencing either wasn’t going to work, and the ACLU admonished her team. Her team of lawyers should have known better but they seem to have no qualms about being bullies. Her feminism in the Ginny and Georgia incident proved to be disgustingly shallow and self-serving since she did not speak out. Talking about her own experience is fine, and so was standing up for herself. But defending herself in the name of “feminism” only to walk away when attacks turned racist on the people or person she brought attention to is not fine. She’s exploiting a movement designed to liberate and that is immoral. I used to love her. So much so that in 2011 at the age of 19 I went to her Speak Now tour and cried tears of happiness when she came on stage. But truthfully I cringe when I hear her speak on double standards in the industry given how she has behaved in a way that takes no issue with other double standards. Other artists call off their fans from being hateful in situations like the Ginny and Georgia incident. Ariana and Cardi B have done this. Ariana took the additional step of sending law enforcement to check up on Pete Davidson after her rabid fans went after him following their split. I’m not understanding the argument that the fear that fans wouldn’t listen would be a valid excuse for not speaking out. At least she would have still done her part and I promise you that many people will listen to anything their lord and savior Taylor Swift has to say. It would have for sure lessened the impact and severity of the hate crime. I started getting weird feelings about her when she did not denounce Tr*mp during the 2016 election cycle. I realize she has since denounced him, but it concerned me that it took until halfway through his term for her to do so. She did not denounce him until 2018, and when she did, it appeared to be to avoid cancel culture. That was my interpretation, anyway. For the first two years of Tr*mp’s presidency, I remember her saying nothing about the state of the country, yet posting pictures from her famous Fourth of July parties, featuring her and her friends in American flag bathing suits. That’s nothing against patriotism, but celebrating a very divided nation in a superficial way without taking any sort of stance, especially at a time when people are being mistreated and we are so divided, and especially considering her huge platform and immense privilege…..That really missed the mark for me. Especially since she claims feminism as part of her brand. I am aware she put out some statement during the George Floyd era of protests promising to be “Loudly and ferociously anti-racist” (her words), and the fact that she released that statement at a time when allyship was “trendy” (for lack of a better word) made me wonder how genuine it was. And I was right to speculate, because about a year later the Ginny and Georgia incident happened. Fans will often defend Taylor by mentioning that anti-racist tweet, but if she couldn’t speak up when it mattered (as in the Ginny and Georgia incident), then that tells me the Tweet was performative. I don’t give a shit if she can talk the talk if she can’t walk the walk. Using anti-racist allyship as a way to bolster your brand is exploitative. And she’s never a part of the conversations when her voice is needed.
