Life is good. I get my 17S/NRCH next Tuesday! I just bought the Geissele Super Scar Trigger, Magpul fire selector, Magpul AFG2 and the BCM grip. Congrats on your purchase!
I got mine a month ago, I still can't believe I own one, living in MA. we are restricted to 10 rds but I can easily and quickly reload those mags. I love this battle rifle.
I love my black Ugg boot. Shoots great, excellent ergonomics, and fires the 7.62x51. Just the rifle when out Bigfoot hunting. 5-7 rounds of FMJ or alternate with 170 grain Core-Lok soft points into his breadbasket will put his butt to the ground.
Just ordered one today got it for 3200, this will be my first gun. I live in mass so im pretty sure i gotta get my stock pinned and flash reducer deleted. Im still learning but im super excited ill be putting a vortex razer 1-6x24 MOA on it but im not sure about what grip to get. Doing my research and will be sighting it in properly
Spend $3200 to$ 4000 why not. ITS GREAT. and what the heck 2024 now, trucks are $65 g and min house is $300g plus....welcome to Amerika. Hope you still own it.
Can you do a disassembly and show how the new NRCH works? I haven't seen anyone make a video on this. I'm definitely interested to see what they modified, compared to my RCH Scar 17.
I’ve seen another video that show’s the NRCH USA model with an upper that’s identical to the Belgium made original FN 17S…so there’s a lot of confusion as to if FN USA is just modifying the older FN 17S’s and charging more or are they actually manufacturing a completely new version. It’s hard to say at this point as there seems to be two different NRCH versions sold with different upper machining cuts. Might be black vs FDE versions but that to be determined.
@@chrisdobz4468 the old bolt carrier fits in the new gun but the new bolt carrier does not fit in the old gun. I have both and I believe the receivers are mostly the same minus a latch up by the piston. Bolts are different that’s about it. Oh and the charging handles are different
I am a left-hand shooter, and the ejection of spent rounds has never been a problem, and neither was the RCH. Now that you have that NRCH, you still bitch about the rails not being long enough. You need to check you trigger weight measurement device as my stock triggers are 5.5 -6 lbs.
It's not that the rails aren't long enough, they should've been modernized and turned into mlok. The NRCH is nice, but FN could've done a lot more to modernize the platform.
I dont know what people are complaining about the trigger weight. Ive felt worse in some 1911 pistols. This is a military rifle and shouldn't have 3 pound tuned triggers when the military people are running, dodging bullets, crashing through doors, dropping on the ground to prone, etc.
Just curious. How would FN know if a rifle has been fired suppressed? Does it leave some wear signature with BCG/Barrel? I have the Scar 17s and have ran it suppressed no issues.
I do not. I'll have the range review up shortly. Recoil is surprisingly minimal. With the gas turned to the suppressed setting, it feels about like 5.56.
@@Gruntreviews Thank you. One last potentially weird question: Is the serial number on the box it came in anywhere? I ask because FN modified older RCH models to be Non reciprocating, and you can tell by the serial number as well as that caliber marking. I could be crazy but I swear I remember reading someone complain that FN put the serial number on the box, but I could be misremembering them for a different manufacturer. If it's a pain to go searching for the box to check for me, no worries I get it. Great unboxing by the way. Lots of good information given.
@@Gruntreviews Thank you so much man, this will help me big time when I'm shopping around. Subscribed, and I'll definitely check out that range review right now.
These arent worth no where near $4k. This a $2500 gun at best. Standard ass pistol grip with cheap plastic buttstock and lower no thanks. Hard pass for me. I could buy 2 sam7sf's thats all steel for the price of this. Plus barrel life on the scar is piss poor along with expensive parts if anything breaks.
@markreagan2956 my guess is probably weight savings. There are some aluminium options in the aftermarket, these also allow you to run SR25 pattern mags and AR10 triggers.

This one is going to be a test bed for a bunch of aftermarket goodies. On top of that, it's a joy to shoot.
I got mine a month ago, I still can't believe I own one, living in MA. we are restricted to 10 rds but I can easily and quickly reload those mags. I love this battle rifle.
Could be worse, at least they didn't make you do all the weird california crap to it. 10rds of 308 is still potent.
Just picked up mine today and out of the box it was very dry and the trigger is extremely gritty,do you remember if yours was like that too?
@matthewlivigni2008 Mine was not dry, but i did get a new trigger, its an awesome rifle.
It didn't come grease packed, but it wasn't bone dry.
@@Gruntreviews right on, I think they do it like that on purpose for some reason, most factory fresh guns these days are dripping with “new juice”
For the price you would think it would come with 2 or 3 mags... either way what a awesome Rifle"
Yeah, I'd like to see a second mag at a minimum. Other option would be allow it to take SR25 pattern mags.

Some love the boot, some hate it. It definitely is functional. Just wish it came with a QD.
Remember these guns like the light rounds because Of the barrel twist rate.

Not sure of the mass laws, but I've heard that they're pretty stupid up there.
This is one hell of a first gun lol, congrats, I'll have one some day.

Gotta love bidenomincs. Spend more, live worse.
That assessment IS 100% CORRECT. Hopefully 2025 We get it all squared away...
I will buy a SCAR this year!!!!!
They are a lot of fun. It will be interesting to see what they bring out at SHOT.

@@Gruntreviews Thanks!
Military Arms Channel has a video - there's a sled that holds the handles and a pin on the front sling attachment that holds the sled in place.

Definitely curious how the NRCH model deals with optics
We shall see how it treats some optics in the coming months. It'll make a good test bed.
Baffles me that they can't even give you two mags with that cheap ass box. Lol.
Seems like the higher the price, the less mags come with it.

They(the sheep) all bitch about RCH, no mlok and the price but still by the rifle!!!
Do you guys keep your boxes when you guy higher end stuff? Or throw it away
I personally keep my boxes.
I keep mine. Idk sometimes it’s because the packaging is cool too but mostly cause I just like to have everything it came with and came in
It’s also good should you ever want to sell the gun.
You should keep your boxes for literally everything. Any half decent collector of anything would tell you that.
My 17s comes in 6days I will be hiding my box in the rafters. Lol
Just curious. How would FN know if a rifle has been fired suppressed? Does it leave some wear signature with BCG/Barrel? I have the Scar 17s and have ran it suppressed no issues.
My guess would be either excessive wear from operation overspeed or possibly some sort of thermal signature.
Just got mine a few weeks ago and it didn't come with the sticker!! 😥😥😂😂
I'd return it immediately, clearly defective. Lol
It's a must. I stuck it on the back window of my truck bed cap. All FN and demand your sticker.
I sold my sticker on Ebay for $1,000 😂
Do you have the previous version? If so could you compare the recoil just curious if it makes a difference
I do not. I'll have the range review up shortly. Recoil is surprisingly minimal. With the gas turned to the suppressed setting, it feels about like 5.56.
This gun cost as much as 2 of my Urgi uppers and dd fsp that’s crazy
FN is definitely proud of their products.
Looks like fun
Should be a fun range review
Just got one also. Can I extend the buttstock and refix it again? I can’t figure out if I can or not
CA compliant version of course
Not sure on that one, I'm not full spun up on what all is required to make it commie compliant and I don't want to give you bad advice.
Is the only difference between this and the previous model the NRCH?
Pretty much. Haven't found any other differences.
@@Gruntreviews thanks!
@@Airplanetyson my pleasure
There is a slight change to the upper receiver. Look at MAC’s channel. There is extra metal on the NRCH

7.62x51

Yes
$3600 and they can’t even give you a plastic case lol. Pay for the name at its finest
