- Hey guys, TheSupremeRk9s here! GEN 9 IS FINALLY HERE!! Now with each new generation, I come up with a team of 6 shinies I want to beat the elite 4 with and Scarlet & Violet are no different! It took no time at all to start knocking these babies out, and as soon as I understood more about the sandwich feature and outbreaks - it was over! All 6 done just like that! Pokémon are just to scale or more to scale than they were before that’s why many seem so small.
Shiny hunting in the Gen has been a blast! Although I haven't done as mcuh as I'd like because wow theres so much to explore ( ´˘` ٥) I'm just sitting here admiring my shinies for a while, and takin tons of pics of em before I even encounter!

Espathra was my first Paldea shiny, I didn't even know what it looked like until I saw it. Love her so much, so interesting how it's hair changes between white and brown depending on the camera angle, wonder if that'll get fixed lol.

I'm a little confused on how shinies spawn. When do they generate? Is it when you enter the render distance, or do you need to refresh the maps entirely?
(This question is for non-outbreaks)
If a Pokémon pops in that’s when it’s generated, if it pops out - that’s when it’s gone for good! It’s all about proximity to the player in this game, nothing like legends Arceus

I failed a Girafarig because of Penny starting to talk and opening a cut scene in Area Zero the first time I went down there. That one stung.

Cetoddle was my first shiny and she was full odds! I love her so much and Cetitan line is my favorite shiny line from this generation!

I hunted for a Slowpoke using the outbreak method. Not 5 minutes later I found a random full odds shiny slowpoke on a different part of the map. It’s a good thing this guy has 2 evolutions lol

I had Espathra just casually appear while I was hunting for trainers to battle in North Province Area Two. I turned the camera around and went ‘wait that’s not right’ and sure enough it was shiny. XD It was one of three three that just popped up while I was playing the main game and not hunting.

Haven't picked up Scarlet or Violet yet, but I've gotten back into shiny hunting after a long 2 years. Managed to get a Regidrago after 6K+ encounters and a Kyogre (in ultra moon) at nearly 2K. Glad to be getting back into hunting, and plan on doing Regieleki soon with Zekrom (in ultra moon).
My shiny team for my play through was shiny Skeledirge, Meowscarada, Esparthra, Palafin, Kilowatrel, and Annihilape! Was a blast getting 18 shinies for my badge quest, but those were the 6 I did the E4 with and post game with!
I love Matsuda shiny hunting. So for my first shiny hunt in the game I chose Cetoddle in a luxury ball! Got it after 753 eggs! It’s hands down the best shiny in the game!! 🤩 congrats on the team!!!
I decided to watch this while shiny hunting for my own Cyclizar as part of my Scarlet team and I think the energies were able to get into my game because I was able to find my shiny not long after the Cyclizar part of this video 😎
My shiny dream team was Meowscarada, Ceruledge, Armarouge, Palafin, Tinkaton, and Baxcalibur. I didn't know Charcadet's only difference was in the eyes and despawned my first one thinking nothing of it.
I have five full odds shinies that I wasnt even hunting for. just sheer coincidence that I ran into them. they are:

Amoongus
Oricorio
Hawlucha!
Of course when I'm actually hunting for a Noivern I get no luck LOL

Oof. The bike fail. I hunted mine where there’s a big rock you can stand on. Got 3 with one shiny boosted Sammy. So that was fun. Wish I could remember where because I can’t imagine hunting it anywhere else. And I could always use spares to maybe offer away for paradox mons.
the game was struggling so hard with all those dondozos around 😭 these shinies are all so nice, cetitan is my favorite
Only gripe with this game so far is getting stuck in wild encounters because no invincibility frames. Super sad watching Pokemon lock you in battle and force the shiny off screen.
I feel like most people are going to fail at least one cyclizar just because of its quickness. I failed one because it spawned too far from me and it was going the opposite direction, it showed up in my screen for less than 2 seconds and I wasn't even sure it was a shiny. I saved the clip just to check. It was.
Excited to see some more. Super happy to have finished the game spoiler free so now I can shiny hunt and team build for VGC wifi battles.

For the cyclazar what you should’ve done is stop reading chat while hunting it and run from the battles faster you sat in the battle for a solid 8second saying you found one then still sat there while it despawneed
i swear i went on a cyclizar killing spree cause it didnt let me run away and the shiny was in the back and despawned....

2) random shiny swablu

4)Shiny Greavard after 3220 seen which was phase one for Frigibax
5)Shiny Frigibax after 7692 seen
6)shiny Paldean Tauros after 3702 seen which was phase one for Charcadet
7)shiny Charcadet after 14334 seen
8)Shiny Tinkatuff after 4404 seen
9)Shiny Finizen after only 2834 seen
Currently I'm hunting for rellor which will be the final member of my team consisting of my starter (so sad they're shiny locked) and the five other shinies. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy shiny hunting in this because I thought it would be like legends but I'm really glad it's a lot easier to do Full odds in this game.

Does anyone know if Cetoddle outbreaks are extremely rare or something, because I reset my outbreaks 100+ times and yet to see it.
I haven’t started hunting yet, but I got a shiny Scarterbug day 1, then proceeded to get a shiny Torkoal, shiny Gogoat & shiny Nacli all full odds within the first week and a half 😂

So far I haven't found any gen 9 shinies, but then again I haven't been actively hunting. Still, I've found 3 shinies just from exploring and training; gulpin, shinx, and litleo.

The cyclizar are crazy fast. My shiny encounter was full odds and I almost missed it because it zipped passed me outside of Lavencia.
Guess Dallas is going to learn to not admire shinies or he will lose them to the ether. Cyclizar for one doesn't have time for gawkers. Congrats on the catch. 😂😂

has anyone caught a shiny and it NOT been a crit capture? All of mine have, I wonder if its the new standard for shinies. Or at least a higher rate.
I think shiny hunting in gen 9 unfortunately has a serious issue and that is the fact there is no overworld sparkle/sound before you encounter a shiny. It has made shiny hunting next to impossible for colorblind people or even blind hunters.
Its very easy to fail a shiny in the game for a lot of the Pokemon due to them being tiny models or because unfortunately a lot of the shinies change very little and are just poor shinies. Its kind of crazy we still have shinies in gen 9 where just the eyes change color.

I failed Cyclizar the exact same way last night. Spawned in while I got trampled by the lil dudes and despawned. Not even five minutes later I reclaimed it haha

I don't know if you did this, but if you caught one of each of the mons before you hunted them they'd have increased chances for a crit capture
