Fly Tying a Generic Marabou nymph with Barry Ord Clarke

- An extremely mobile nymph, that uses only marabou and a copper wire rib. Although very simple the technique has to be learned in order to tie it correctly. Once you have seen this pattern wet or swimming, you'll be tying more.

Tying with Marabou can be so fiddly. You really show how to do it Barry. Great stuff.
You got that right Hjalti, but once you have tied a couple...
Cracking looking fly that fella!!
Thank you Euan.
Another excellent video Mr Clark. I certainly enjoy your tutelage.
Why thank you John, always good to get positive feedback!
Nice. I feel confident having a go with this one Barry and it looks a treat. Thank you for another one dude. Keep safe.
Hey Dude, thanks, thats good go for it!
Perfection as usual, Barry. Ta.
For those who encounter difficulties handling the marabou, the trick is to moisten it with a bit of water (not saliva).
Thanks Ted, yes that always works, good idea.
Really enjoyed this lesson thank you sir and stay safe .
Awesome tie Bender, thanks. Getting back to watchin these.....been super busy. Bein essential sucks. Lol. Take care mister!
Thanks Paul, I know exactly what you mean! you too.
Nice tying 👍🇺🇸
Thank you The Vermonter
Thank you.
Super pheasant tail there Mr. Clark. I never have tried to tie one with Marabou. So this is kind of foreign ground to me. LOL. But there is a first time for everything. I will send you a picture if I am successful. Well done on the video as usual. And thanks again Mr. Clark that was fantastic. Hope you and family are good for the rest of the year enjoy your summer.
Hi Danny, thank you. Just for future reference, a pheasant tail, is a nymph made from the fibres from a pheasant's tail! This is a nymph, as is a pheasant tail, but made from turkey marabou. Pleased that you enjoyed the video, and we are all good here thanks. The family & I are at our cottage on a small island in the Oslo fjord, national holiday this weekend here in Norway. Stay safe...
@@Thefeatherbender thanks Mr. Clark. You are right, it is not a Pheasant tail nymph. I stand corrected. Glad you and family are well. Enjoy your Holiday.
Hi, nice instruction and presentation. I have just found a way to use up all my left over wet fly Marabou feathers and make a lot of nymphs, in my case I will add tungsten bead as our rivers are fast and have some deep runs. Cheers!
Hi Piere, Thanks. Sounds like a good Idea!
Good looking fly
Thank you Kelly.
very nice fly tankiou Barry
Thank you Guy, have a nice weekend!
thank you mister
Merci Franck.
Stunning fly. Marabou is delicate and probably not as robust as other natural materials. But I bet it that does look amazing when fished.
Hi Starsky, thanks, yes marabou is a little less robust, but twisting it like this does help!
Tanks for a great pattern 👍
Thanks Anders.

Wow!
do you actually fish your flies Barry ?
Hi Kenneth, not all, many of these patterns I tie to demonstrate the pattern and techniques, but all the fishing flies I tie, other than the ones I give away I fish with. To be honest, my trout fishing consists of about 10 patterns, and thats it!
Muy bueno !!!!!
Gracias!

Hi Randy, they are not difficult, give them a go and let me know how you get on. Good luck!
