    Hi Barry a terrific dressing, beautifully tied, I once saw a Jersey Herd tied with the copper body made from a copper pot scourer, it is a bit broader than the flat wire you were using and would cover the body quicker, on the down side it tarnished quickly, but with the resins of today that should stop that happening, thanks again for another cracking video. regards Jimf

      Hi Jim, yes the Jersey herder a great fry pattern from the concrete bowl era.

    Sweet Barry! I have been so busy this summer I have not had time to get out and do some fly fishing.. I tried to tie some of the flies in your book.. But my old fingers need a bit more practice.. Just not very nimble anymore.. I truly miss the relaxed time of fly fishing.. But these video kind of bring it on for me a bit.. I always find myself relaxing as I watch.. I guess it is just the old body memory thing.. I was truly hoping to get more fly fishing in this year.. BUT.. Well heck at least I am getting things done around here.. I need to have the motor in my truck rebuilt I think.. my oil pressure is down and I have a slight lifter tick plus she has 220 thousand miles so I think it is about time.. she still works great but no sense in pushing the old gal.. Dang summer is going quick though.. Well my friend.. take care of yourself. I hope this finds you healthy and happy.. carry on ole son!

      Hi Tink, well good to hear that you are still kicking! I ws getting a little worried there... Yeah the summer here is also on the way out so less time on the water now and more at the tying bench. You stay safe now...

    A very nice pattern! This is the kind of multi layered patterns I enjoy tying! It looks just perfect Barry! I knew there was a reason to crawl out of bed at 2am there was a disturbance in the force.
    Barry you did it once for me and I lost it, your source for flat copper wire? I cannot find it even on eBay!
    As always, thank-you for taking the time to share your knowledge!

    How do you snap your thread end off? Any time I try to do that I end up with frayed pieces sticking out. Maybe it is the thread I use

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  Год назад

      Hi, you have to hold tension on your bobbin, so the thread is tight, then quickly jerk the thread end to the right (against the thread wraps).

    Hi Barry , hope you are keeping well,
    1-are you planning to do any videos for micro tying ?
    2- Do you have some videos to share using more colored wires ? Regards

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад

      Hi Tarik, all good thank. Well micro tying is difficult for me to film, not to mention my eyes! Most of the nymph videos can be adapted for coloured wire...
