The All-star break seems to have really affected the Braves, as it usually does with teams on a hot streak. I never expected it to go on forever, but they are just off after the break. It's their time to slump a bit, but that's baseball for ya. Keep on choppin'!
Don't know why the Braves hitting and pitching would be moreso affected by the rain delay more than the Red Sox they just didn't provide any hitting or solid pitching, perhaps "Uncle Charlie" is becoming Grandpa Charlie, Lol, beautiful triple play by the Braves however a once in a lifetime thing the way it happened, however very disappointing lose but I have faith that they will become hot again soon, GO BRAVES!!!!!!!
I really hope the Red Sox can get the opportunity for a wild card game and a shot at getting into the playoffs. They can make some big noise if they get the opportunity.
Game 99: That was a weird game. The Braves turned the first 8-3-5 triple play since 1884. We couldn't drive our runners in today and it resulted in the loss.
Yeah I mean at the 2:03 you can’t see the hop but the ball is behaving as if it just took one. It would seem unthinkable that the umps could have missed that but apparently they did. And also that it wasn’t challenged by Atlanta- if that is challengeable- but the Braves might have been thinking if they did challenge it and got it called as a grounder then the Sox might have been able to get a triple play of their own out of it. Umps were way out in left field. That’s why the Sox ran into their own triple play later because it was reverse psychology. Whacked.
The other thing weird about that was that neither of the announcers gave their true opinion as to if they saw it as a catch or a grounder, as if they were too scared to even sally forth a judgment.
Tough loss it just wasn’t our day. Charlie definitely was affected by the rain delay and probably the bats were as well. That what a rain delay can do to a team. Strider on the mound tomorrow hopefully we can bounce back. Go braves #ForTheA

The braves players thought that the ball bounces before arroyo caught it but arroyo actually caught it so they just had to step on 3rd base to get the guy out because he didnt tag when he went home
Line drive to 2nd base that is caught. All runners went back to the bag after it was caught, EXCEPT ozzie who started on 3rd base. After the bad throw to first, all runners then ran to the next bag (Ozuna -> 1st, Murphy -> 2nd, Olson -> 3rd) The umpire crew will never tell players directly that a player didn’t tag up on a base, but the pitcher has the ability to “check” if a runner actually tagged by throwing it to the base before throwing his next pitch In this case, since Ozzie didn’t tag up, he was called out on the throw to 3rd. Hence the double play. In other words, just think of it as only a runner on 3rd, and a line drive that was caught then thrown to 3rd before the runner could get back
@@gerwinsir Ozuna was out because Arroyo caught the ball . Albies didn't tag the third base after the ball was caught, so he was out at third after the pitcher threw it to third.
After their day off yesterday, the Atlanta Braves returned to work last night upon arrival in Boston to go up against the Red Sox.
