Love this one. Frequently find myself in situations where they’re applying top pressure and keeping their arm on the side I have locked down firmly against my torso gripping my gi. Driving your knees up and pushing them up behind your head makes so much sense.
I got your lockdown video at bjj fanatics and it was really great. Really upped my lockdown game. I’m a purple belt with a pretty decent lockdown game already and this really leveled it up. The only place I’m still struggling with lockdown is when I have guys who are not just big, but also real long. They can flatten you out and stay heavy, because it’s hard to really bend or extend out the leg. I’ve been transitioning to deep half or getting a butterfly hook in on these guys but I want to know if there is something I can do within the lockdown so I can have a solution from that position.
I used to love hitting calf slicers until I tore my own LCL when my opponent tried to flail & twist out of the position while my legs were triangled. After that, I was careful to not go for them in positions where I didn't have a lot of control over the opponent's upper body.
Can’t wait to try this, I use the lockdown quite frequently.
I like how he explained to push your shin outward into the calf detail, only the most legit grapplers know that little tip.
I accidentally found this sub about a month ago and I have been obsessed with it. I was so glad I was able to validate myself by finding this video.

A move for MMA?
Potentially. People don’t always tap to slicers, but it’s there
who's expecting a white belt to slice their calf's? >:D
