Episode 6. I loved the scene where Joel reunites with Tommy. They felt like brothers who even though they disagreed on morals they still care about each other deeply. The tease for Dina in season. 2 was cool and I loved how well translated Jackson was. The argument scene hit very hard because the show had done the work to make that scene hit as hard as it did. I also loved the song in the ending. It was a fantastic idea for the show runner Craig Mazin’s daughter to sing the song and she did a great job. The old couple that Joel and Ellie met where really funny and the campfire scene was really great as well. We saw Joel’s panic attacks and they felt like a very interesting and intense addition to his character. His breakdown to Tommy had me in tears. Pedro was perfect casting for Joel and so was Bella Ramsey. The acting in this show is next level. Maria was also portrayed really well. The scene where she tells Ellie about Sarah hit very hard she felt like Joel wasn’t a man to be trusted because of
Episode 8. This episode was very dark and brought the events from the chapter of the game to life so well. David was a terrifying character and I truly felt scared for Ellie. Troy Bakers cameo was a brilliant idea and he knocked it out of the park. Bella Ramsey embodies Ellie. She nailed the emotions that Ellie felt. Her breakdown made me feel so much and when I finished the episode I was left there staring at the screen just thinking. The episode lingers in my mind and is definitely one I look forward to rewatching.
This is where my head gets put on a stick and paraded around the place. Episode 7. This episode is essential to Ellie’s story. We get to see how Fedra operates and we see Ellie’s isolation and anger. Riley is a very good character and scenes like the escalator scene made me laugh and smile. The scene where they both got bitten was excellent and Bella’s acting was fantastic. I also think it was a great idea to have Joel be conscious when Ellie injects him with the medicine. He is so desperate for her to just leave him because he cares about her so much.
    4. Episode 3 Everyone loves this episode and it’s not hard to see why. The tale of Bill and Frank was a very emotional one. I cried a lot when Ellie read the letter from Bill to Joel. Joel’s reaction to the letter also felt very real. It was really cool how Joel got his iconic shirt from Frank. Frank was also a really likeable character and Bill felt like the same paranoid man but we got to see him live a fulfilling life and be happy.
Episode 9 Ashley Johnson was outstanding in this episode. I loved the backstory and her friendship with Marlene. It added so much weight to Joel killing Marlene at the end of the episode. The giraffe scene was absolutely beautiful and I felt so much joy watching it. I also loved the scene where Joel tells Ellie about the aftermath of Sarah’s death, it was very powerful and showed how much Ellie had made him become a better person. It was heartbreaking when Joel killed the Fireflies. You could see that he didn’t see them as people he saw them as obstacles in the way of saving Ellie his daughter that he cared so much about. This episode was the perfect finale to the series and ended it on a very high note.

No one’s talks about how Joel is suddenly not deaf anymore for the plot lol

I agree with most of the episode orders on this one. RIiley's episode wasn't executed well (not because of the acting) but it was needed to further develop Ellie's character for us. I really wanted to see what happened when they turned and Ellie dealing with that though. I am looking forward to more infected and action in season 2 please!!

Yeah, I can’t believe I’m saying this but more zombies are definitely needed in season 2. They cut out sooooo much this time round.

The only reason I didn't like the show as much as I could is because of non existence tension. In the game you feel on edge 24/7,you have so much action that makes your hair stand and yet the show threw some infected at us in the first 2 episodes and then a swarm of them later basically saying "here's all the infected you wanted and we will barely show any anymore so Shut the fuck up". A show with 15M budget should ration their right portion of action.

Yeah I totally get that! I think for people who have never played the games before it’s still a really good program. And for the most part I think it’s an amazing adaptation. But you’re right, I think it’s just so difficult to capture the same feeling you get when you’re actually playing as the protagonist.
