Love the Mauritius 10 Rupees, and I once had a 1970 chunky 50p in a hunt. Still unusual to find them in bags.
I spent £3 on one of those chunky 50ps (a 1973 EEC joining) in an antique shop recently, because I wanted to go down memory lane. It was worth it. Definitely my favourite find in todays video 👍
Chris prob found the one I pushed in to a v young checkout girl , I suppose I could have made a £2 extra but no problem.

Interesting 👍 Just like I suggested the £2 Charles Darwin was getting rarer and above face value so I’m going to call the ‘ordinary’ Battle of Britain 50p as one that I find is now above face value.

I like the chucky 50p, and it's the star find of the hunt.
Some nice finds and some rather unusual ones, lol.
Finally got my Paddington at the Cathedral 50p, last Paddington I needed and felt like it took forever to find lol (just going through change I get in the shop I work at - I have permission to swap commemoratives I find for a regular 50p from my change, thankfully they trust me 😊)

Wow some amazing finds and pretty odd ones to find. I do find some odd ten pence coins in my quarter hunts in Canada.

The brown coin that's had the patina filed down is probably a river find. I find brown coins like this all the time after a few years in the river Thames (I'm a licence Thames mudlark) . If they are spendies (in circulation still), I'd use things like a brillo pad to clean them off just enough that I can use them again in a shop. I think that's what you have there a recovered river find 👍🏼
A brillow pad may scratch it, id leave it in some protective type cleaning solution thats no doubt on the market somewhere now, and just dry off with a soft micro fibre cloth
@@User10111 I don't use a brillo pad with old coin finds. I use it with spendies if they are really brown and a shop is unlikely to accept them as cash.
Just put the coin in a salt and vinegar solution for 5 minutes it brings white metal coins back like new ish .
Bar the three odd balls a very sparse bottom row. Keep hunting

i was lucky again, post office, normally get 2 bags to check, £20 worth. one bag was a sealed one of the memorial coin, thats 3 full bags now, sits with my full bags of platinum jubilee. would they carry more worth being bagged even if common? i like them and keep commons too

not a bad hunt a little thin on over face coins if not for the platnum jubilee and the pride the B potter would be your only older keeper i think some of the older keepers are pretty much done now but time will tell.

That brown 50p could possibly been washed around on a beach I found a similar 10p on a beach with similar wear and discolouration
