    Surprisingly how you took the time to go through what anyone would have immediately seen as $250 tops. IDK if your offer price is due to being a friend but it’s pretty cool how fair you were and clearly giving anyone watching this a great lesson on many variables that why a vendor would just speed through and throw out like I said $250. Definitely going to subscribe. Integrity is everything in business!! Too bad you’re not local..

    17:13 Although the 1970-D Kennedy was a NIFC, it is also 40% Ag.
    Circulated War Nickels may be ugly, but dollar per dollar they contain 53% more Ag than 90% Coins.
    $1 FV WWII Nickels contain 1.1 OzT, while $1 FV 90% coinage (10,25,50 cents) contain 0.72 OzT.
    And, the higher grade nickels can be attractive. Because people don't like the Nickels, you can buy them with little to no premium over melt. I flipped about 30 rolls at Apmex once and turned a nice profit.

    honestly, old wheat pennies even if they aren't one of the super rare ones or whatever, they are worth at least 2c because of the copper. And even more than that a lot of the old wheat pennies from 1909-1940 are worth 15-25c just bc they are old (assuming they are in decent condition). So, imo most of the wheat pennies (in decent condition) are actually worth a lot considering they are 1c face value.

    5 cent piece is the echidna the platypus is on the 20 cent piece, both the echidna and platypus are known as monotremes which are the only two mammals 8n the world who feed their young on milk when they hatch.

    I have been collecting coins since I was a youngster, and I have a 1905 Indian head penny that is stamped by the mint on a dime silver plankton. I'm wondering maybe it's worth a few dollars? You can also see the mercury dime stamped in the background

      That sounds like you've got an interesting error coin. Probably worth your time to ask around. Your local coin shop may be able to give you an idea. First thing will be determining authenticity, of course. Dimes and cents struck on the planchet of the other does occasionally happen. My brother found one in change just last year. I'm not an error guy, so I wouldn't venture an opinion on value.

    Is there any safe way to clean coins that are super gross.. like in a bucket that also had some dirt or dust? I don't want them to be clean clean but some of them are difficult to even tell what they are because of gunk.. is it ok to just soak in water or something?

    • @andyreznick
      @andyreznick 2 года назад +1

      There are some ways to clean up a coin if it's that bad. But I caution you if you try it without knowing exactly what you're doing you'll probably reduce its value. Soaking any coin in water besides gold will harm it eventually. Gold will simply be unaffected. Seriously, it's a touchy business. It needs to be done by someone who knows how and generally it's only worth doing for a coin with some collector value. The most widely cleaned coins are silver dollars. It almost always reduces their value because no reputable grading company will assign a grade thereafter other than "Cleaned - (some grade) details". This means the coin WOULD HAVE GRADED whatever grade, but cannot be graded because it's got a problem preventing that (in this case "cleaned"). Sorry so long-winded. Hope this helps.
