I believe there’s a lot to be said for doing pre and post scans even outside the collision industry. If you haven’t had a customer say “that light wasn’t on when I brought the car in” you haven’t been doing this very long.

Guarantee the guy bought it used with those issues... "Look I got this car for 80% off sticker" and I can't afford to fix or maintain a damn thing on it.

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 5.7L with a P0714 and trans over temp code, I used a red dot temperature gun and my transmission is running at 145F that’s really good temp. So I cleaned all the plugins and put electrical grease on it and it still comes back on. Any ideas? Also the engine is running cool too.

    • @jacobhighley3137

Let me add one more thing, I can drive 2,000 miles and it won’t come on but the next day I drive 10 miles and it pops on. I did some research online and there’s a lot of people with this same problem with my make and model but also the Jeep Commander.

You know those phones that share your information when you tap them together? What if insurance companies push for legislation that require cars to wirelessly share info when they contact another vehicle. I don’t like people all up in my business like that, but would probably save you from scammers. Mostly save the insurance company.

    • @TheVirindi

Why make it the law? Insurance companies can just offer people a discount for using it, like OBD2 tracker dongles. Then people can decide if it is worth the discount to them.
