Who's here after Spellbook was announced as the gamemode for the new SG event, and are super disappointed that we didn't get this instead? Anyways we can't blame Riot they are a small indie company, they have to create lazy gamemodes to be able to profit.
To be fair if the player would be clever nobody would touch these shit mode and they would have to fond new ways to attract player. But asking average LoL player to be clever is the real challenge here....

Yeah! Imagine playing as all the different Sentinels across different terrains in Runeterra. Each level having wraiths and also a Ruined champion as a boss. The final level would be everyone fighting Viego… oh how amazing that could’ve been.
i miss the old days: twisted treeline, doombots, ascension, hexakill, singularity, star guardian, blood moon, odyssey. what i would do to bring back the days when league was fun. they could have at least put nexus blitz instead of the dumbest game mode they ever made, and yes, i'm staring right at you, ultimate spellbook. i feel like riot needs to pay more attention to what its players want. it's becoming a dead, horribly stale game.

Definitely an excuse, rather than a valid and player-centric reason! We see the priority of Riot/Tencent that, if a mode is unprofitable for them, as this one supposedly was, it can't exist. Put simply: no profit= no development. With the huge injection of money from the Tencent acquisition and the upping of skin prices, we as a playerbase have _lost_ these temporary and permanent game modes. I wonder, how much would another short run of SG Invasion cost in proportion to the billions that could be behind its recreation? Unfortunately - but expectedly - no strong community voices hold Riot/Tencent accountable through advocacy for the loss of these modes. And if people play Spellbook (and even purchase skins), there is no incentive in the language they speak to change back to the creativity that spurred the development of these fun modes. On a broader note, if you have familiarity with the patterns of capitalism, this would of seemed inevitable. What propels me to comment is the disengenous reasons given at the time by Riot and the potential that is being squashed by low effort Spellbook-esque modes. Shame-deserving as a direction for a great game it is, though, it is not worth fighting for. Like in reaction to other games that have been taken over and monetised heavier at the expense of the game's creative potential, one can move on.
god I miss the PvE gamemodes like this one and odyssey, I was only a little dude back then and could barely play well yet. would be so much fun to get my hands on it now when i'm a lot better at the game

Esse modo poderia voltar nesse ano de 2022. Era o meu favorito, e era ainda melhor porque tinha a Syndra nele. A Tencent e a Riot nao fizeram mais nada legal e único nesse sentido pra agradar seus jogadores, o que é uma pena (exceção é aquele modo chamado Nexus Blitz, que é muito legal tambem, pena que nao colocam ele muitas vezes)!
This was certainly one of the funniest game modes I have played. I was grinding so much to beat onslaught with an S since none of my friends had been interested I queued with randoms. It was a grind but it was worth it. Sadly Riot nowadays doesn't make fun game modes anymore. Spellbook, Urf, One for all.... I really dislike these modes because they are just small boring changes to Summoners Rift. Where is the PvE? Where is the dark star event? Or the project one? Why Riot? Why?

looking back with the current event makes me feel so disappointed, bc, honestly the current event is garbage, in my experience and the people I know doesn't care about the other sky stories, some of them doesn't really care about the main story of how boring it is. And that without adding the annoying spell book that didn't really change at all just the minions and towers like almost nothing and ahris voice 😔
