I liked this short animation. Started out with Mimi being abandoned by her original creator and taken to be fixed by another Engineer. Then went to go confront Mimi's creator and teach him a lesson.
Wait, how did you deduce that she was abandoned by her original creator? I had assumed that the protagonist engie was returning from a patrol or an errand and found his Mimi-Sentry destroyed in his absence.
@@MarqFJA87 Well clearly the other Engineer didn't bother to fix her and replaced her if he decided to make other robots. Plus, he didn't seem too happy when seeing her again which implies that he was disappointed in her and deemed her weak and useless. It also explains why she was unhappy seeing him again.
It took me watching the whole video to understand what it was about. I just thought he found Mimi in the trash and just decided to attack that random engie for no reason.
As an Engineer, I see all of my buildings as children I care for. And for those who say "You hit them to make them work harder", you my friend have a sick mind
from a gameplay perspective, the Engie hits his builds, but surely from a canon standpoint, he's giving his builds maintenance. Or of course, once I read a theory that the Engie hits the buildings since they have a technology that allows them to repair themselves, but they need kinetic energy to do so; This is supported by the fact that when assembling a construction that has already been built, it will be restored while it is being assembled.
As engineer, yes our building are like children to us but for those who throwing them away because of new replacement. You're not human being but bullshit..mimi do have feelings and we care about her
I wonder how many of the people currently making SFMs of Mimi are or were Engi Mains at one point As an Engi Main, I can totally see all the love she is getting coming from a very genuine place of care and not just "cute animu gurl but Sentry"
It's fantastic creations like the Mimi-Sentry that really goes to show just how amazing the TF2 fandom is with their creative output. They truly are the backbone that has kept not only this game, but the franchise itself still relevant almost 20 years later. Makes me uncomfortable to think what her maker may have done to her…

Honestly, this video deserves to be nominated for this year's Saxton Hale Awards (if only Valve still awarded animators like in the good old days...). Serious and wholesome animations with good story like this one is what keeping the community of TF2 animations alive
