I was in the Air Force and was stationed first in Darmstadt and then from 1972 to 1974 at Sheridan Kaserne in Augsburg. I remember there was a 9 hole golf course outside one of the gates. I got my only hole in one there in May of 1974 about a month before I was discharged. What great friends and memories. Oktoberfest, Paris, Amsterdam and countless places in Germany. I am now 73 years old and still trying for my 2nd hole in one.
Thank you for watching. I was prior service 77-80. Went to Korea and then Kansas. Went back in in 82 in Intell. Arrived Augsburg in 83 and stayed 7.5 years loving it. Esp. After my previous assignments. I’ve now been back 5 times and am seriously considering returning in Dec. for the Christmas Markets. All the best!
713th, in Bldg. 157 in the mid- to late-1980's.
Thanks so much for the tour, Chip!
I was stationed in Munich from 86-89 and had knee surgery at the field hospital in Augsburg in 88. I just went back to visit last year and was blown away by the changes that 30 plus years had brought
Thank you for watching. A lot has changed and a lot is the same. I’m thinking about going over this year for the Christmas markets. All the best!
I was stationed there 1977 in 1978. Played softball for Service Company and Rugby for Augsburg. I lived outside the Kaserne at 43 Stadtberger Strasse.
Awesome! And thank you for watching!
I was stationed at Flak Kaserne in the late 70's and assigned to 3rd ops at Gab. A lot of fun and good memories.
Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoyed the Augsburg videos. All the best!
Miss that place!
Thank you for going back to Augsburg and filming the MANY changes! I was stationed at NSGA Augsburg from June 1985 and left in August 1987. I also worked at Gab, alongside with my now ex-husband. I lived on Regerstrasse in Stadtbergen, literally outside the back gate of Sheridan. 😂 I arrived single, and left married with a newborn baby. Our daughter was born at the 34th General Hospital. I have so many beautiful and precious memories of my time there. Thank you for the opportunity to fondly reflect on my own joyful experience. God bless you! 🙏
Thank you for watching. I was there 83-90 so we probably crossed paths. In 86-87, I also lived in Stadtbergen behind Sheridan on Albert Schweitzer Strasse. Are you aware of the annual FSA reunions? They’re awesome! All the best!
@@ChippersIslandAdventures We lived at 9 Regerstrasse. I had a cute 1 bdr apartment upstairs in a single family home. We had a wonderful landlady who spoke perfect english (she lived in London for 8 years). I had my chihuahua sent to me, and used to take her "outside" at the side gate to a walking path - you could see the back gate of Sheridan Kaserne...so close, yet you had to drive around for our street was a dead end.
Mr. and Mrs. Denneler loved our daughter and chihuahua (they were a childless couple with no pets due to their travelling schedule for work). Mrs. Denneler loved to take our daughter and furbaby to her beautiful rose garden in the backyard, for a few hours when she was home. She was so loving and kind. Mr. Denneler did not speak english, yet made it very clear, I was not allowed to shovel snow or dig out my car while pregnant. 😂 He did it for me if my husband was not home.
Those are a couple of the beautiful memories your video brought to my mind. Thank you. 😁 I wish I had a Bürgerbräu to raise to you and toast. 🍻
Thank you and all the best!
@@dwraine1 that's almost my mom's story as well. I was born here in 84
Thank you so much for posting this video! It brought back such wonderful memories for me. I lived on Sheridan Kaserne from 83-86 as a member of 3d Ops Bn.
Thank you for watching. I was there with ya. 83-90. I knew a couple people in your ops I’m sure. All the best!
You, too!@@ChippersIslandAdventures
That's cool I was born there in 1984 I wonder if you know my parents.
@@JohnQ84 Sorry I didn't see this before. What were their names?

Thank you for watching. All the best!
I was stationed at Sheridan kaserne 1980 to 1982 3/63 armor building 150 .
Thank you for watching. I believe your unit pulled out of Sheridan in 1983 and moved elsewhere. I remember guys telling me of an armor unit that was there, but moved just prior to me arriving in April 83. All the best!
@@ChippersIslandAdventures You’re right I got letters from friends when I was at fort hood that was still there in Augsburg I believe they moved to schweinfurt they didn’t like it there they really missed Augsburg .
I was born here in 1984, i have been trying to learn more about the place.
Thank you for watching. I was in Augsburg when you were born 83-90. Hope this video helped a little. There were also artillery units on Sheridan. All the best!
@@ChippersIslandAdventures I'm just going to ask plane. Know anything about UFOs?
I was stationed at Coleman Kaserne in Gelnhausen. We once had a guy steal an M60 tank and drive it to a Gasthaus downtown where he put the barrel in the front door. It had something to do with an unfaithful girlfriend. 😂
Oh snap!
ASA 1965- 1967 24 inf 2nd 7th Field Artillery 😀
Thank you for watching. All the best!
did you happen to know a czech 98g named Sam Slemp? he was my father.
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately I did not. I’m a 98K and we would’ve been in different battalions and sections. All the best!
ASA: 1973-1976.
Thank you for watching. Feel free to check out my FSA report reunion vids. You may recognize quite a few folks. My uncle George Johnson was also ASA. All the best!
