2006 Opel Astra Vauxhall 1.4 bent Axel
In this video we show you how to reinstall a new/second-hand Axel it is important always make sure the bushings and everything you put on is good if not replace them before you put it back on and especially when doing a job like this make sure you get it track properly like we show in the video to make sure everything is straight if you do not do this you risk crashing and possibly worse you will never be able to keep this car straight or keep good tires on it it is vitally important you get it tracked and make sure it's 100% straight

Nice job mate. We had to swap a rear axle.on my brother's vw scirocco one Christmas after some snow antics. The biggest problem we had was remembering which beer bottles had beer in and which had brake fluid in.

I watched a good portion of the video. Enough to see you could use a bit of help at times. But with the lift and the transmission jack it all went well. Nicely done Leon.

That must have been quite satisfying repairing an older vehicle with secondhand parts ,you got the car back on the road without costing the customer a fortune.

Hey my friend love your vids. Where in Ireland are u located. Did you experience what they called the troubles with the ira and the brits back in the 80s and early 90s when it was at its peek. Just curious thats all. Ive been reading some books on the provos fighting with the protastants and the brits. Lots of interesting stuff mate. Just wondered what it was like over the during those times

I've never seen that on a german Astra H/Mk5 from 1,4 up to 2,0!

Hi Leon you need to measure the diagonal for that check
bryan latimer-davies hi mate there is really no need to do the diagonals on a live axle once you have the up and down measurement you are ok but like I say in a video you still need to get it checked out on the laser machine because if you are out in any way at all this laser machine will tell you
What has caused the front offside tyre to wear on the inside?
Dave Reid it was because of the bent rear axle

A question: I noticed that an outer cv joint had a leak around the boot. The clamp has most likely come loose because I can move the boot back and forth an inch or so in both directions. What's the easiest way to get the old clamp off and try to refill the boot with more grease? Thx.
