This is so beautiful. I'm so glad Walt is still the center. Thank you for showing this video & for giving us this background. Truly magical.

Wonderful to see the statue go from concept to finished project, and it’s truly a joyous pose of Walt and Mickey that will bring smiles to the faces of all the guests 😃👍!

"I do not make films for children... or, at least, not primarily for children."
"You're dead if you aim for kids."
"We design the films to appeal to ourselves."
"The adults have the money; ... children don't have any money."
    - Walt Disney

Just as the majority of households subscribing to Disney+ do not contain children, the majority of parties visiting Disneyland, and its progeny, throughout their history, have also not contained children.
In fact, Walt Disney told the C.B.C. in a 1963 interview that 80% of Disneyland's guests are adults.

The plaque on the "Partners" statue in Central Plaza at Disneyland is a lie. Walt Disney never uttered the sentence attributed to him.

"Where parents and children can have fun together"... even if it's made up, why do you care so much?

The original maquette Blaine Gibson sculpted for "Partners" depicted Mickey Mouse as a child who was holding in one of his hands Walt Disney's, and, in the other, Mickey held an ice-cream cone.
Thankfully, someone had the good sense to get rid of the ice-cream cone in the finished product, but, unfortunately, Walt and Mickey were still depicted holding hands.
Mickey is a "happy little bachelor," not a child, so "Partners" has never made sense. And, the false quotation is not helping.
A better quotation would be, "Disneyland will never be complete; it will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." That sentiment implicitly refers to Mr. Disney's death and legacy while also emphasizing the longevity and ongoing work of the organization he founded.
