This is an excellent tutorial, exactly what is needed without all the extra noise! I was able to change out filter in less than 10 minutes after watching your video a couple times. Not bad for a 56yo lady. Thanks for giving me that sense of accomplishment.

This is by far the best video I've found for this "simple" task!! All the others lack the excellent views underneath, so I was left with blurry photos that I took to try to figure out where the 2nd torx screw was and NONE of them showed the clip that needs to be released!! Thank you so much for this video.
Just “happened across” this video. FANTASTIC. You took the time to get the best angles and point out the relevant information. I now feel confident to change my own cabin air filter. Thank you!
This would also be a great time (with the filter out) to run the heater and spray some Lysol or other commercial antibacterial spray into your vent system. It will fix or prevent that musty smell cars get after a time. Great video.
Quick and easy, thanks! Just wanted to note that it looked like your 12 volt connection on the left of the dash piece was removed at some point. If you have this, it'll need to be unplugged as well and the wiring is much shorter than the one for the footwell light.
just did mine - looks easier on tape - finding my needed tools took 1 hr !!! but thanks I had hard time finding the filter . The long under hood ones are much easier to work with !!!
Very helpful video. I replaced my cabin filter for the first time. The accessibility is such a big issue to locate the inside fasteners and replace the filter in a curved shape. It took me almost an hour. Pretty hard to work on, but saved $$$.
Thanks for this very easy to follow video, made fitting a cinch - much appreciated. 👍 BTW - the base cover of the air filter on my UK 2013 F31 has 3 x Torx 20 screws - no big deal, but maybe they have changed something slightly? - thanks again.
Hello, I noticed you are in the Toronto area, which shop did you end up going to in regards to your timing chain? Did you do it yourself? Thanks for sharing these awesome videos!
Thanks, I went to Newmarket and planning to go back to Toronto at Don Valley where I bought my 328. I still have a bit of time and miles before my warranty is gone - but definitely planning to get a second opinion from another dealership before I spend my money doing it myself
I just saw this video after I replaced this filter based off the Bentley video. Yours is better! Stupid place to put a cabin filter in a car. My E46 was much easier to replace.
Arrow points to the front? Mine was pointing towards driver when I pulled it out. And this was done buly bmw dealer. Nevertheless I followed your video.... pointing to the front now. Hope its ok lol. I have a f32 by the way
While researching this I came across a forum post by a guy who removed his at 10 miles (only to confirm factory direction) and he stated the arrow was pointing towards the front of the car.
I need background music and a 10 minute introduction about how BMW designed this system. I have time on my hands and this video was too direct and to the point.
NewRoad Adventures is yours also a Canadian BMW? just found out that the Canadian version charges $350 for the extra lighter, driver glove box and seatback pockets...
A side benefit of this video is that I did not even realize I had a cigarette lighter under the glove box until I removed the panel. And I've owned the car for six years.

Replacing air filter in this car is ridiculous! My Audi was way easier! Thanks for the video, I couldn’t figure it out without it.

Agree, it's perfect time to do it at the same time as you change the filter
Excellent follow along step- by -step video. The dealer quoted $257.00 for this. I replaced mine in about 1/2 an hour. Thank you!

Much appreciated. The contrast between how unwieldy this is to do for my 340xi versus my Honda Pilot pretty much epitomizes BMW engineering!
Glad it was helpful
Thank you, video is to the point and no music. Going to the garage to change mine now..
What a fantastic straight to the point diy video. Thank you for posting this!!

What cabin filter did you get and do you recommend it?
In video it was MAHLE - but I didn't like it...had some additional odor. The last one that I installed and happy with is this one: amzn.to/3qDp4TQ
great video!
Thanks!
Great video, quick and easy process....To think that dealers take hundreds of dollars to do this.
Thank you, and you are right about dealer's charges

Would this apply to an E46 330i brother?
I quickly looked it up and it looks like the air filter for E46 330i is under the hood. What year is it?

Arrow face front meaning face passenger seat?

put some soft pad or something to lie down on your back

👏👏👍
airflow goes to cabin
i can’t get that annoying foot light to unplug
try with small flat screwdriver
so your car does not have the cigarettes lighter under the glove box either...sigh

Wow. A random person could change 10 Toyota cabin filters by the time these BMW steps are done. The engineering involved in BMW is beyond idiotic. Lol
Ok, but who wants to drive a Toyota.
Look up nissan leaf cabin filter change
Is the location the same for 2018 bmw 330E ?
