- filmed this video in LA CENTRALE, Pisa Italy; the song was written by Louis Prima in 1936, and recorded by Ben ny Goodman, featuring the great Gene Krupa on drums. Check out the amazing solo by JASON 'TEEN BEAT' SMAY in this live version.
I could watch Eddie Angel all day!
love the choreography
What a drum solo!
Saw these guys in Sellersville, Pa. with Southern Culture On The Skids. They Tore the place apart!!!! GREAT SHOW.
I think Louis P. would approve!
Coolest live band on the planet!
Excellent
Wonder what kind of cymbals that guy's rockin'...no need for a crash, the hihat and ride are both doing double-duty quite well!
Gawd I love these guys!
loved the straitjackets the first time i heard them
Ese si es un grupo que respeta a su baterista. El video es viejo pero muy bueno.
still lives in 2016
A ESTA BANDA LA AMO!!!
I'm soo glad you caught this one. This band does one of my favorite rendition of the song, and this drum solo is memorable!!!! I was lucky enough to be there of course, but will go back and watch this soon
Sandra
Jeez, I didn't know Prima wrote that! LP never recorded a bad cut in his entire career, and SAM BUTERA was the greatest bandleader ever.
Me encantan mis papás los escuchaban
marvelouso!!!
Ha! Loved it! Best version since Goodman @ Carnegie!
in a suit....none the less
fricking awesome!
Your right musicians do like when you cheer an clap for them, but not when everyone is throwing your beat off an not even close to the beat.. An you see the guitarist wave his hand when the drummer starts his solo" the songs not done stop clapping"
Very nice indeed
INCREDIBLE... FUCKING... AWESOME!!!
This is one of the greatest performances I think I have ever seen... this is a tremendously difficult piece to get right under the best circumstances, and these guys just smoked it right off the fucking planet. "Awesome" just seems to be too weak a word to describe Los Straitjackets.
wow. great.
i thought this was a straitjackets original, imagine my surprise when i found out it was written in 1934 by louis prima.... done by the benny goodman orchestra.. good music lives FOREVER
go find yourself a copy of Benny Goodman Live at Carnegie Hall. you won't regret it.
These guys can sure grind that axe!
COOL......
it is gene kruppa, this song was done by the benny goodman orchestre 1936 !!

@taylordesignsllc Believe it or not, musicians actually like ehen people go crazy during a solo!
CHINGóN !!! BRAVO STRAITJACKETS!!
GREAT!!!! Man...awesome drumming there! Wow...! I hope that the guys will play this one next time they're in Holland...but then with Jason playing a vintage Ludwig (you can use mine anytime!)...or anything, but not a Mapex for #@$% sake! Haha, take care now, all the best -Benny
Nice Directing, Camera Man!

Gringos si les mola el buen surf busquen en México existe mucha variedad
shades of Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa....

Is that a black panther snare?
written in 1934
BING BING BING..........Crosby. His horse won the race you see.
Coolest live band on the planet!
