There’s no where for the train to turn round at Reston and Lockerbie is also managed by scotrail but doesn’t serve Lockerbie and is mainly a Transpenine Express served station with a few Avanti services a day

The power supply isn't sufficent to allow all electric trains to use the wires north of Alnmouth, so the TPE services have to run on diesel power.
